During an exclusive interview with Townhall from the White House Tuesday morning, President Trump warned his administration will take action if Democratic mayors and governors can't get crime under control.
"They are cities run by liberal Democrats," Trump said. "We're now looking at having to do something. You know, we have to be asked to go into a city like Chicago, which is so ridiculous where they had like, 68 shootings and 18 deaths over the weekend. It's not even comprehensible. Worse than Afghanistan, worse than any war zone."
"We're supposed to be asked. She is supposed to call, the mayor, Lightfoot, Lori, she's supposed to call and say 'we need your help.' We call her, 'would you like to have us come in,' and they don't want us and I say, 'what's going on?'" he continued.
During the interview, President Trump said police in cities like Chicago and New York City aren't allowed to do their jobs and are terrified of legal action.
"We are going to have to do something very comprehensive," he said. "It means sending people in. It means sending people in to clean it up... there's a point at which we're allowed to go in and that point is rapidly being reached... there's a point at which we will have to do it because we just have to do it for the good of the country."

I wish the President would give the okay for law abiding citizens to fix the dumbocrat problem in this country. By any means.
How do they come up with the president’s statements being a “threat”. Absolutely stupid reporting. The man has offered help and the trash declined. It is the USA. We the people don’t need to be having this crap pop up in one area after another. The readers here talk about martial law, I’m pissed the our good president hasn’t done something before now. I imagine he is showing just how awful it can get. The military can clean these punks up in a flash and go to lunch. Go Trump!

We Did NOT elect President Trump to clean up Democrats mess. We elected Trump to make America Great again.
The mayor of NY had better watch himself. He won't be mayor for ever. Didn't he tell his kids to be afraid of police?? He may want to take his own advice.

6:36 - I disagree and think POTUS would LOVE to go make an example of situation in Seattle, but there are limits to what he can do legally - he was wise enough to say just enough to allow the various democratic mayors/governors to put their heads in a noose and he has to let it play out to a point. I’d guess he would love to just steamroll them but he has to do it in a certain way under certain conditions. Just my two cents
