Nearly everything we’ve been told about models, rates of infection, deaths, and recoveries was inaccurate.
I’m not here to argue that it was malfeasance or ignorance — both are unacceptable. But the one thing that Governor Andrew Cuomo’s stunning announcement made clear on Thursday is that there are some pretty shocking — and what should be — reassuring truths.
Cuomo announced that antibody testing in New York state, which only began four days previous, was already demonstrating that at minimum 13.9% of New Yorkers, had COVID-19 late stage antibodies.
The implication of this is a shockwave to the system.
With a population of 19,540,500 the findings point out that over 2,500,000 New Yorkers had the virus and have recovered. Keep in mind that as of this writing that only 263,000 New Yorkers have currently confirmed cases. Also as of this writing New York has reported 19,543 fatalities.
We’ve been told that the true death rate is 7.4% in New York. We were told there would be hundreds of thousands dead. We were told that this was worse than the flu, which has still recorded more deaths to date in this past flu season—even though the CDC instructed medical personnel to start counting influenza, heart disease, pulmonary, respiratory, drug overdose, and possibly even car crash deaths as COVID-19 deaths.

Been saying this from the beginning. This has been fear mongering from the left in an effort to hurt trump in the election because when he gets up there against Biden or whoever may step in, his record was about as good as it could be, and anyone with a brain would see that 4 more years of trump is far better than anything the left could put up.

Delaware ER's have been reporting Covid 19 Like Illnesses at a higher rate then Influenza Like Illness since at least Dec 29 Of course at that time no one was calling it Covid 19.
A lot of slow learners here but I forgive them.
LOL When you take the antibody test it come with a book o how it is not reliable. Why take it?
I saw too where DE ER's reporting Covid Like illness showing up in the ER's as far back as Dec! The graph only goes back to Dec 29 so you have to wonder if it wasn't happened before then even.
It's hard to find as it's not on the DE Coronavirus updates main page. You have to go there. Scroll down to almost 1/2 the age to the red bar that says See More Data at My Healthy Community. When you get there there the numbers are more detailed and there are lots of graphs. So in DE they started seeing in the ER people with Covid like illness that we know as far back as Dec. I wish they would look into this more. If they can find those people and antibody test them it might tell us that we've been living with this virus much longer then we think.

There was a story about an African mayor or Governor (I forget) that used the test on animals (like a goat) and people and inanimate objects. The test for positive COVID came back on the goat and a few other animals.

To be sure this is GREAT news, and a good start. Testing is the key, for the illness and for the antibodies.
As this article shows, AND according to the numbers they posted, Covid 19 is still wildly more dangerous that the flu, but if this studies results show true everywhere it would mean that opening up much faster is absolutely on the horizon!
