A Viewer Writes: The Ross Project

I’m hearing the “bank” pulled out of the deal and immediately cut off the money! All equipment is gone and the old Chamber building is partially demolished. There’s been NO activity there for about 2 weeks! I guess the “beautiful, new downtown ‘Bury” already has an eyesore. Wonder how Dumb Dumb Day will spin this one? Inquiring minds want to know.....

Downtown eyesores have a history in 21st century Salisbury.

Leaver it to BEAVER another pie in the sky he'll have to find funding for to save face. Like we've said before plans of mice and men he never thinks things through, he dropped the idea of revitalizing downtown with our historic structures and went for a new set of legos. Still Route 13 and all the orange cones look like a dump and too many projects started and abandoned because he never finishes something before he gets another brain freeze. Thank God the Festival was cancelled for this year maybe we'll complete something that we actually need, like roads and painting city buildings along Rt13 North. Like a little beautification of what this town used to look like before Jake, and saving our City Park and restoring the animals that once were a joy to the children.

The bank who approved such a loan should fire everyone and close.Hard working people are fed up with this nonsense with these banks loaning money to friends and elites only to have this happen and they can’t get squat.

COVID-19 has paused a lot of construction projects. Most likely someone wised up and realized it was a bad deal. Who is the developer behind this project? Reminds of the Riverside project back in 07 when one of principles was telling me how people were going to move to Salisbury and buy $500k condos.

What Bank would finance this bs?
If is my Bank get out of my way I’m closing all my accounts with them!

Good thing is the back door is in place, just no side doors. Lol. This will be like the project down on river that houses artists or Aka Section 8

Salisbury is a downright torn up mess! Route 13 is torn up on both sides with the sidewalks demolished and the right lane going south so bumpy and full of holes you can't drive in that lane. Cones and barrels everywhere. It's awful looking. No one project is ever completed. They tear it up and then quit and move on to another part of town and tear that up, and on and on it goes. If Salisbury doesn't get rid of the goofy mayor Day, the town will be totally destroyed. It doesn't have far to go.

Riding thru slumsbury makes me want to take bleach and a powerwasher and wash the whole town.

Pausing construction doesn't require construction equipment to be removed from the site.

Project probably got zapped when they discovered they had neglected to provide enough valet indoor parking....for bicycles. /sarc

Contaminated soil!

How long will that project lay dormant like the hulk most of which was torn down on Fitzwater St. Another bullshit move by 'boy wonder Day'. Him and Hogan must be related. Stupid is as stupid does.

I feel sorry for the remnant of the old building. It looks like a giant cheap hotel tumor is growing on its back, a malignant buildingoma.

It's just like everything else Jake has "done" errr... failed in life at. You should've seen the hotel he designed and was trying to sell to developers in Ocean City back when he was claiming to be an Architect. Absolutely horrible looking. Had a scale model of it at his parent's house! What a belly laugh!

Close the whole damn downtown main street BS permanently!! Only criminals and Lawyers use downtown anyway.

That doesn't matter to Day or his cronies in Annapolis. The waterfront land he is about to dump 15 million into by the Salisbury Marina is a toxic wasteland. The "artist" apartments as well as this new albatross sits on an old fertilizer company that destroyed all the soil and eventually the river. There was to be NO development allowed but when you're stealing taxpayers money things just seem to go away

As a matter of fact you would not move equipment unless it was going to another job. Demolition would be one job that would continue during this situation unless the job was shut down.

So what about the development project where the old Salisbury Mall once stood?

Well I just had to take a ride through downtown to see what all the fuss is about. You've got to be f'ing kidding me Jake Day. What you've done to downtown salisbury is disgraceful to say the least

Downtown salisbury looks like the aftermath of either a natural disaster or a war zone!! WTF is going on with the salisbury City council to allow this idiot Jake Day to destroy your city?? 🤯🤯
