Why Isn't The Wicomico Child Advocacy Center Accredited?

I believe this is a really good question. You have the Salisbury Police and Fire Department and even the Salisbury Zoo who recently lost their accreditation with checks and balances. Worcester and other counties are accredited in Maryland, shouldn't Wicomico have checks and balances as well?

Are they a non profit? Are the rules different for Non profits? I have never heard anything negative regarding them as an organization.

Accreditation costs money.

All local branches of Social Services are accredited

That place is a joke. My daughter was a victim of the mayors wife and they pretended to be on my side but came to my house and asked to see my other kids bedrooms and living conditions. They would come over every few weeks and question my little elementary kids. They are lucky I’m not suing them for being morons. I could maybe see if we lived in the hood but no we live in the country with a mortgage and 2 car garage. Go after thr druggies not an honest family that has to put the dog in the crate cause he didn’t like you.

They are made up of various agencies. They are not their own independent agency

10:52 - you should sue!!!

You mean the Child Avocacy Center. Check out their sign.

My husband recently served on a jury trail where this agency was involved. The jury all agreed this agency did not do their job, not even close. It made it very hard to protect the child/children involved because they did not do their job. After the trail a nice little press release was put out by our states attorney including a thank you to this agency.

So much is wrong in this town/world, I don't even know where to begin to fix it.

Absolutely you should sue, don't even hesitate, do it.

Is this organization a government agency? Please answer...

I would but most lawyers here are friends with all the politicians and it’s sad because my daughter was harrasaed at school so much we are now paying for online school. She is dropping out due to anxiety and stress.

Sad when you start bashing one of the best CAC units in the East. They are way over worked in all aspects. You morons have no idea what you are talking about. There will always be mistakes made they are human. Show me a man or woman who wants to wade through the worlds worst offenders. Maybe if you kept a closer eye on your child sir he or she would not have been involved in the case in the first place. As a retired investigator you could not pay me enough to work in child crimes. Try being a better parent that would be a great start. To the CAC keep doing what you do God has your back. These CSI watching mouth breathers could not handle what u do. Takes a special kind of person to slam the work you do. 90 % of your case load involves the immediate family as l said be better parents out there and there would be no need for that unit. Hey pretty boy do your job lol

First, if a nice little thank you was put out, then obviously they did a good enough job to get a conviction. Second, anyone who cant spell TRIAL should be excused from jury duty.

How do you know there was a conviction or not?!?! Also trail= trial, it was an honest switch of letters. Obviously you missed the point. This is the exact reason why we are where we are as a city/county. Let's worry about a typo instead of a dept doing their job.

Get an out of town attorney if you feel that you can not trust local attorneys.

Not missing the point at all. Press releases thanking the agency and the attorney handling the case come out after a conviction. Have you ever seen a thank you saying, "thanks for the hard work. Didn't work out the way we wanted, but we'll get them next time"? I'd really like to know what you think their job is, and why it was done so poorly? Oh, and I'd go for they typo excuse if the word was only misspelled once.

Actually, he was not convicted on many of the charges because the jury didn't think the CDC did their job. It was an extremely upsetting case for all involved, including the jury. There was not even a medical examination done. It is a shame for someone to be charged for something they didn't do and unfortunately their are people out here with false claims just to get someone back. You can argue all day long why the job wasn't done better. Under paid, over worked, lazy, poor management, all of the above.. etc. But the fact is, someone didn't get the conviction they should have if the charges were correct.

Cell phones auto correct all the time. Sometimes even change words and in a hurry it is over looked. Obviously you are aware of that as you are placing judgement over a typo when you have one yourself! (The not they) spelling a word incorrect isn't the issue at hand. But you are a perfect example of why the issues will never improve. Instead of stating a person didn't deserve to be on the jury, that you don't even know, because of a typo his wife made; let's be more concerned a child predator didn't get a proper sentence because the CAC didn't do their job on that particular case. I have never understood why personal attacks even have a place when you are just giving an opinion of an experience.

I am not in a place to tell you all the reasons the entire jury felt the CAC didn't do their job efficiently as I wasn't there. But, an entire jury coming to this conclusion tells me something was wrong. Or maybe, with your opinion, the entire jury spells badly and didn't deserve to be there anyway.

12:05, Unfortunately, I've had to deal with the CAC. I found them to be professional and compassionate. They were relentless in their investigation and fortunately, in our case, justice was served. Sleep still comes less easily than it did before my world was turned upside down, but it isn't because they didn't do a good job.

WCAC never cooperated with me whenever I requested their help.

If you take the time to do research in this matter the Wicomico County CAC investigates cases at a ten to one ratio over other CACs on the shore. Investigators are not lining up to get into this unit because of the mental stress of the day in and day out cases. The detectives that do stay there are dedicated and sadly never the same people they were before wading in this horrific set of crimes they investigate. I would ask that you walk a mile in their shoes before judging them by one case that a juror or jury felt may have been lacking. If you look at the hundreds of convictions that unit has under it's belt and not to mention the thousands of cases that never saw a court room you would be astonished. I had to ask myself why Wicomico has such an abundance of child crimes and the answer is just take a look at these post. The mindset of the typical Wicomican is differant then the rest of the world. What you do not see is the child victims that get back to living as normal a life as possible after going through the counseling provided by numerous assets like the Life Crisis and Child Protective Services. Has anyone ever seen a pedophile in the grasp of a CAC detective on the front page of the Daily Slime. No because it just is not what community leaders want. Also the families are the main interest there. You do not want to victimize the victim. All one has to do is go on the sex registry for Wicomico County it will turn your hair white if you are a loving and caring parent. These bastards are all around us. That registry is comprised mostly of people this unit arrested. Sadly there is no time for proactive policing. The powers to be will not dedicate the resources to this unit because it is not glamorous like a big bag of cocaine laid out on the hood of a car or some gang banger with a gun. Our society and the leadership in this county and hundreds of others just do not see a need to protect our children. The officers and staff in that unit should be debriefed at least three times a year in a private setting. God knows you do not want show the damage done to the staff there in the police world that is considered weakness. Then we wonder why police suicide is so prevalent in our society not to mention self medicating behaviors. Society can not get enough of cop shows there is dozens on t.v. any given night. Everybody love a good 20/20 or Live P.D. No one wants to hear about an infant whose has been savagely raped or murdered. Hell even cops do not want to talk about. There is documented studies that show these investigators burn out faster than any other type of crime. I am a strong supporter of this type of unit it is not only necessary but imperative in protecting our children. Just being accredited would be nice but the CAC in Wicomico has been baptized by fire. There is absolutely no substitute for experience. To the staff at the CAC do not let these people with their negative views bother you. Keep up the great work the reward is in you. Funny they reward the top producers at every department who writes the most tickets or D.U.I.s. They even have a luncheon for them. They usually get the promotions as well. This is indicative of the type of world we live in. I tip my hat to you guys. Remember when pursuing monsters you don't become one. God Bless+

“Get a lawyer!!” Just that easy, right? That comes with a maximum mortgage and life-long debt.. moving far, far away is the better option.
