No wonder the house burnt to the ground, it took forever for the volunteers to get out. These counties on the lower shore need to start considering a paid fire and or EMS department.

That is terrible.

Good for the smoke alarm.

Having experienced a similar situation some years ago hats off to first responders. Fortunately our home was saved but garage and contents including vehicle totally destroyed; the rest of the house, smoke and water damage. Fire is a very destructive and unforgiving tragedy. Under right conditions it moves quickly and consumes everything in its path. In this case happy to hear no injuries; sorry for the loss to the family.

Small communities cannot afford a paid crew , the volunteers live in the community and do a great job

Anyone attacking our community volunteer firefighters is a dirt bag

Anonymous said...

You call that a great job?

I heard directly across from the fire dept.

So just because they are volunteers, we aren't allowed to hold them accountable? This is literally right across the street from the fire station.

Check the Volunteers Cell phones on Facebook

bet your ass they were doing Selfies in front of the burning house

They most definitely did their job. That station for the most part is not staffed 24/7. I was told the first person to get there was 4 minutes. But besides that, those firefighters, emts whoever responded took the utmost care of my family home.

Sorry for your loss

It is. But not fully staffed 24/7. They have saved my mothers life twice though
