MSNBC host Chris Matthews was noticeably absent during the cable network’s coverage of Saturday’s South Carolina primary - a day after a journalist said he inappropriately flirted with her before an appearance on his show.
Matthews, who has been hosting political talk shows on cable news for decades, is normally a fixture on MSNBC’s election panels.
DailyMail.com has reached out to MSNBC for comment on Matthews’ status with the network.
On Friday, freelance journalist Laura Bassett wrote an article in GQ accusing Matthews of being 'gross and inappropriate' with her.

Apparently he retired as soon as his show came on the air tonight, not that anyone actually saw it.

So interesting. He makes reference to Nazi Germany with regard to Bernie Sanders victory in Nevada. BOOM! He's fired!!
He's been accusing Trump, and Trump followers of all kinds of nazi behavior, calling his supporters brown shirts, mentioning Goebbels, etc. None of that cost him his job. But, the minute he applied it to a Democrat, his 20 year career at MSNBC is over.
I'm pissed that he was allowed to say all these things about Trump (and worse), but once it's a Democrat, they circle the wagons and fire him. Talk about a double standard.
On the other hand, I feel a thrill going up my leg , knowing this POS got fired. He created a monster in the cancel culture, and then got eaten by it. Talk about just desserts!!

He was fired for saying to Basset “ why haven’t I fallen in love with you yet” this was was unforgivable, sexism and Basset is currently in counseling over it. It has NOTHING to do with Basset being a Bernie supporter...
