The Marine Corps top commander called on his senior officials last week to review the removal of Confederate symbols or Confederate-related paraphernalia from bases worldwide.
A spokesperson for Commandant General David Berger confirmed on Wednesday that a directive was sent to his senior staff ordering that all Marine Corps installations remove symbols related to the Confederate States of America.
It is not known when they need to be removed by, and the exact types of symbols to be stripped were also not identified.
The order comes after a recent poll revealed 36 percent of active-duty troops in the U.S. military have witnessed white supremacy and racism in their ranks.

It is funny that people want to erase symbols because they believe those symbols to be racist. However getting rid of these symbols will not erase racism. A certain amount of people will always have attitude towards another group of people who aren't like them. That is just the way things are and nothing will ever change it in a billion years. Racism can not be legislated out of existence and only idiots think otherwise. BEWARE OF IDIOTS.

Northwest Woodsman: Just looked him up on Wiki and found that he is basically a REMF military politician. Has a bunch of what I call “I’ve been there medals” but none for valor in combat like a Bronze Star with V, Silver Star, or Distinguished Service Cross. I expect that he was comfortably ensconced in a nice air conditioned trailer and had fine dining in a facility just for him and some of his sycophants. I’m very familiar with those senior officers.
