An Apple engineer who died when his Tesla Model X hit a concrete barrier on a California freeway had complained before his death about the SUV's Autopilot system previously malfunctioning.
The complaints Walter Huang made to his family and friends were detailed in a trove of documents released on Tuesday by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, which is investigating the March 2018 crash that killed him.
Huang, a father-of-two, died in hospital following the fiery crash after his Tesla veered off U.S. 101 in Silicon Valley and into a concrete barrier.
Data from Huang's crash showed his SUV did not brake or try to steer around the barrier in the three seconds before the crash. The car also sped up from 62mph to 71 mph just before crashing.

Walter should not have been a crash test dummy.
Then why the he'll did he keep driving it? Common sense is rare nowadays.
I can't wait for all the libtard greenies to get Teslas with autopilot.
Forgot the fact that millions of Americans actually drive their cars to work and make it there just fine. And just think most of them probably are texting while driving and they may ok. But i still agree with 4:52.....then why keep driving it?? Or at the least why keep using the autopilot feature??
Darwin Award runner-up.
sure it wasn't suicide?
He must have expected the car to get slower when the next model year came out
And the car sped up before the impact? This was an assassination. Hooray for big tech! *sarcasm*
