Yep, crazy ain't it?

Yes. I just received a package from Amazon Prime - 1 box 8" x 10" and inside another box 5"x5" (very good quality boxes). Guess what was inside the smaller box - an 8 oz coffee cup. That's all nothing else. Didn't Bezos (one of the richest man in the world) donate billions to Climate change. I guess cutting down trees has nothing to do with the environment. He is pathetic 😡

How well you worded that! I can't add to that superb post.

Yup. Liberal logic at its finest!

You just opened pandora's box !

the oil companies should be sued for this blight they have released on the world! these micro plastics have contaminated everything on our planet including your own bodies! terrible what they have perpetuated on the future generations! sea life is loaded with these wastes.
Even the arctic regions have been polluted by this scourge! all unleashed by the petro companies in pursuit of a dollar! They should be made to clean up their mess! Ban all one time use, throw away plastics!

Ummm, Yeah. What don’t you get?

So, how many of those other items have you seen on the side of the road, in trees, in ditches, or in the fields? Now, how many of those plastic bags have you seen in those same places? Yep, the public has no one to blame but themselves for improperly disposing those plastic bags. Those other items are not bad for the environment because they are properly disposed of. Apparently and obviously, the bags are not.

You can't survive without plastics. All mouth, no substance. It's PEOPLE that want cheap plastic bags, and oil companies are just producing what people want and pay for. That pollution of the planet is from PEOPLE / humans. It's people that improperly dispose of the bags and other plastics, not oil companies. You are barking up the wrong tree. It's people that made the mess, and it's people that should clean it up. Oil companies have nothing to do with it.

Two things that you need pointed out to you: One, trees are a renewal resource, unlike oil. You cut a tree down, and replace it with another tree. And two, those cardboard boxes are recyclable. You do not understand anything about what causes climate change.

Been using my own tote bags at the grocery store for years, even have insulated ones. But on occasion I don,t use them for quick stops because store plastic bags are NOT single use. Small trashcan liners, kitty litter(used) disposal, carry greasy/dirty tools from unclogging drains back to toolbox, dirty work gloves in car trunk, and a million more uses.

Bet you 8oz cup wasn't broke or you'd be whining about that.

Obviously you haven't traveled down some back roads and seen the plastic bags full of plastic garbage that has been tossed out of a vehicle strewing a mile or so of trash in its wake...I've seen (and stopped to pick up) MANY of those other items along with the plastic bags. And don't even get me started about cigarette butts...little nuggets of poison thrown out everywhere!

But no plastic

Anonymous said...

Oil companies are forcing no one to use plastic

Anonymous said...

Plastic bags can be made to be biodegradable, some caution tape is.

No actually smart business move. They won't give you a nag but want you to buy a reusable plastic coated bag for $1 each bag. Now they can claim environmentally friendly - no plastic bags while making more money.

As I was told one time @ PRMC when I questioned a policy someone with a better pay scale, a title, and a know it all makes the decisions it is what it is.

8:56 It's his money he can do whatever the hell he wants to with it. Sounds like jealousy to me. The bottom line is that the consumer can choose to recycle or not to. It's curious that we always look for someone to blame besides ourselves.

Anonymous said...

Yep that is how it works!!!!!

8:56 NO it has to do with everyone being a good little salve and doing as they are told ORRRR it has to do with making you morons feel good, by the spewing crap they say out of their mouth... Remember how everyone says anything and everything is for the KIDS, and then all of you go brain dead, like it is a trigger word or something, and you all open up your wallet and let them take your money and rights along with it... But it was all for the kids, as proof shows it was never for the kids, but you brain dead slaves don't know any wiser...

Please enlighten us. What causes "Climate change" ?

Anonymous said...

Or charge you for a paper bag, payable to the state.

Anonymous said...

10:23 Really? Guess you do not get out much and believe just what the media wants you to believe.

Anonymous said...

Municipalities make money on recycled cardboard. In Salisbury the city sells the cardboard to a buyer and sends everything else (which loses money) to the recycling plant at the landfill. The recycling plant does not have the resources(machinery, etc…) to recycle everything, so a lot ends up in the landfill. Also, a lot of things you think are recyclable are not.

Yup, I guess you can spout out you proclamations that plastic bags cause climate change, but can't back it up with any facts.
You are a typical moron that believes anything they hear on TV about climate doom and gloom with the only cure to tax and control people more and more.

Do a little research and look at the history.

Socialists (communists that haven't taken out the guns yet) have been trying to use one issue after another to con the public into their political agenda of total control.

Don't be stupid.

Have you ever taken a college level course in the weather, or climate change? Apparently not. Not my job to teach you. I could, but I won't. You'll just believe whatever you want. But I'll give you a hint why I said what I said. Cutting down trees to make paper products and growing new trees DOES NOT hurt the environment or contribute to climate change. Or didn't you comprehend my critique?

Yes, I am educated.

Please tell us all what part of climate change is not natural.

Please also tell us what the normal climactic temperature should be.

I am pleased that you are educated. I'll try to believe you. It sounds like you are agreeing with my line of thought, that growing trees for paper production does not contribute to climate change, and is a renewable resource. The science I studied has empirical evidence that supports unending climate change in either direction (cooling / warming), regardless of human activities. As to your question as to what is "normal" global temperature (I find the term "climactic" amusing but inappropriate), there is no normal, when looking back over thousands, hundreds of thousands, and millions of years. Humans have only been on the face of the earth for 200,000 years, and have had little impact on the global climate.

If you are so educated, why do you keep asking questions? Sounds like you don't know ANYTHING about climate change. What do you want, a free college course?

2:06
They use machines to cut the trees, trucks to haul the trees and more machines to process the wood to make paper. All those things require fuel so how can you say they don't contribute to climate change?

Anonymous said...

Point Well Spoken 2:06 ! World population Increase's ..and life expectancy every year ..How Can Our God Made World Not Change ??.. Enlighten Me ??? ...
( Here we go ..) lol

Anonymous said...

February 20, 2020 at 2:32 PM:

How the hell do you say that they do? I'd like to see you try to live in a "no fuel" environment. Back to the stone ages you say? Even they burned wood and created air pollution. There is no proof that the climate change we are experiencing now is any more than the natural rotation of the planet areas from cold to hot to cold, like it has always done since the earth was formed. Ice ages have come and gone, many times. After every ice age, it was followed by global warming, even when man had yet to roam the earth. Man can not control climate change. Not by reducing emissions, or burning alternate fuels. Climate change is inevitable, regardless of mankind. Every man is naive, or has another agenda ($) if they promote the idea that man can change the course of the global climate by passing laws restricting fuel use, and taxing people. Your point is moot.

You assumed more than you should. I don't think we can control climate change either. My point was they want to get rid of plastic and use paper because 2:06 says it doesn't contribute to climate change. If 2:06 believes in climate change than they should know that processing the wood in his eyes would contribute to it.
