Bill would allow drivers with traffic debt to keep license

ANNAPOLIS, Md. —Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh is backing bipartisan legislation that would allow a driver who owes a traffic debt to keep their license.

Paying a traffic ticket is not always high on the priority list -- sometimes people put it off to pay other bills -- but if you don't pay it, the consequences are severe. Frosh said Wednesday that tens of thousands of people get their licenses suspended because they didn't pay a ticket or fee.

Jason Butler, of Baltimore, spent a month in jail for driving with a suspended license. He initially got a traffic ticket for failing to signal. When he didn't pay, the fine and court costs mounted.

Problem is Statutory Law, which is unconstitutional

Very few Americans even know what Common Law meant for the Founders.

How about if you can't pay your fine you get assigned to complete some community service. They can pick up trash off of the roadway and see how dangerous speeding can be..

How about community service in keeping our streets and sidewalks clean?

Well that should make sure that nobody feels the need to pay their traffic fines. Just don't pay it. What the hell. Why pay if there's no penalty?

Like to know how many elites in Maryland haven’t paid like they don’t pay their income taxes.

Don't pay your electric bill or car payment and see what happens. These deadbeats don't have to take one bit of responsibility for their actions or lack thereof.

A driver's license is a privilege not a right. If you can follow the rules of a privilege then you have no right to that privilege. It's amazing how we can turn a privilege into what politicians think should be a right.
