With the new toll rates in 2020, it will cost $53.50 to cross Pennsylvania on the turnpike

Starting on Jan. 5, Pennsylvania Turnpike tolls are going up for the 12th consecutive year, making it more costly than ever to cross the state.

Under the new fares, it will cost $53.50 to travel from Neshaminy Falls — the easternmost start of the mainline — to Warrendale — the final toll plaza in the west.

That's an increase of about 6 percent or $3.10, from the 2019 rates, while E-Z Pass rates remain significantly lower, costing $38.40 to cross the state.

And if you take too long to cross on the turnpike, they will ask you why and give you a hard time.

You can save money with the EZ pass but they will track you.

You are being tracked anyway 8:41, that's what all the traffic cameras and tag readers are doing 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. There is no escaping it unless you walk or ride a bicycle and don't carry a cell phone
