Baltimore on track to break record for most homicides in a single year

The city of Baltimore is rapidly approaching its 1993 record of 353 murders following a bloody year in Charm City.

After two murders on Sunday night, Baltimore was 15 deaths shy of the record set 26 years ago, according to ABC News.

The two women shot and killed just before Christmas were the 337th and 338th residents to be murdered in 2019. Their deaths followed the killing of seven individuals, including three teenagers, that occurred after a shooting earlier Sunday afternoon. Those homicides, along with two other homicides on Saturday, brought the weekend total to 11.

Relative to population size, the homicide rate from 1993 has already been surpassed because the number of residents living in Baltimore has fallen by nearly 100,000 over the past two-and-a-half decades.

Hogan needs to control the crime in the State. As much tax dollars Hogan and the Democrat legislature dumps into Baltimore, Why is there no accountability. Maryland needs to increase punishment and reinstate the death penalty. This is ridiculous that MS13 and other gangs and drug dealers can run a city. Hogan needs to back the Police and cut tax dollars to Baltimore until they control and reduce crime within the year.

Salisbury "Little Baltimore" thanks to Hogan and Jake Day is getting worse every day. Chew on this one a neighbor who was wanted about a year ago by Worchester County for a business known as Romeo's Pizza in OC and was on our most listed in this area, owns a house that a month ago was posted with 3 notices "Condemmed Property" absolutely no admittance, violaters will be prosecuted and so on. Now the landlord is back with the people he evicted helping him remodel it! Does our city condemn buildings to allow the slum lords back to remodel it so it passes the litmus test for another year, and then again second time we will see this happen. And another house has been worked on for a wk or two a year by Mexicans, then they leave and return again same story for 2 yrs. now. It too is posted and they charge the owners then allow them back over and over. This surely has to be a Jake thing because everything he is behind never gets any conclusions. And we wonder why these vacant homes and owners are sounding more and more like Baltimore. And yes the crime goes up every time they're back. We need to clean up the landlords, crime and drugs like yesterday.

Northwest Woodsman: One dramatic and effective solution would be the use of napalm. Would surely get rid of rats and sanitize themplace at the same time.
