Trump: Open Borders Threatens the Wage Gains of America’s Lowest-Income Workers

President Donald Trump touted the wage gains for Americans in the lowest income brackets, adding that that the open borders policies of the Democratic Party threaten those gains.

“Since the election, real wages have gone up 3.2 percent for the median American worker,” Trump said in a speech Tuesday to the Economic Club of New York. “But for the bottom income group, real wages are soaring. A number that has never happened before. Nine percent.”

Wage gains for those near the bottom of America’s economic ladder have been particularly strong this year. The lowest-paid Americans saw weekly earnings rise by more than 5 percent in the second quarter from a year earlier, according to a quarterly survey of households produced by the Labor Department. Workers with less than a high-school diploma saw their wages grow nearly 6 percent.

“That may mean you make a couple of bucks less in your companies,” Trump said. “And you know what? That’s okay. This is a great thing for our country. When you talk about equality. This is a great thing for our country.”

Why do you guys continue to give Trump as pass for lies. His own agencies quote one number in readily available reports. He then goes out and makes up his own inflated number. He'll then try to convince you his policies are correct based off his factually incorrect statements. Case in point:

Wages are up because of a tight job market, a readily predictable outcome of an economy that has been growing steadily since 2011. Has nothing to do with immigration.

OK. Finally, Trump has entered the ring and is ready to fight. Little by little he will remind people that his agenda works because it's based on logic - not feelings or emotions. He's tapping into the cerebrum of the voters when he says things like this because they get it: cheaper labor means less work for me. Simple enough for even the least educated person among us.
Unfortunately, many of them have voted for democrats promising to give them free stuff that they never get. Trump now has a chance to win them over by showing them that the democrats have been giving them hands-free proctology examinations for years.

Analysis: True

A smaller labor pool will draw wages up as employers compete for scarcer talent.

Just a fact!

Yeah it was growing, but not at this rare and unemployment has been drastically reduced. You can keep your doctor threw comrad. Go kill another million babies commies. Bye bye buttercup

Except whenbyou clowns figure out that economic growth gets stymied due to a lack of labor. Take the eastern shore for example: modern industry wont come, despite ready access to 2 major ports and multiple airports, due to lack of skilled labor.

Oh boy. I present facts. You reply with lame insults. Well here we go: "nannie nannie boo boo". There, hope your feelings were hurt.

One more fact; wage growth was growing at these rates and even higher during the market boom jist prior to recession
