NFL player accuses Steelers quarterback of using racial slur moments before on-field brawl

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph denies an allegation from Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett that Rudolph called him a racial slur moments before the two got into a brawl at the end of last week's nationally-televised game.

Garrett, who is black, made the allegation during an appeal hearing for his indefinite suspension from the NFL, according to ESPN.

The two men got into a physical altercation in the final moments of last week's game in Pittsburgh. During the skirmish, Garrett ripped off Rudolph's helmet and hit him over the head with it.

“Mason vehemently denies the report of being accused of using a racial slur during the incident Thursday night in Cleveland," the Steelers said in a statement to The Washington Examiner. "He will not discuss this accusation any further, and his focus remains on preparation for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.”

Does anyone in their right mind think a racial slur would be used when 75% of the teams are black? How dumb is this guy?

Cam Newton was arrested in college for stealing a laptop. He got off because he was black and a potential rising star. These are the ones that should never get off. They are the ones that will always resort to crime and racism. These are our role models for our children.

For anyone who has never played a sport at a higher level then Pop-Warner. Racial slurs, insults to your mother, wife, kids, is part of what goes on in the trenches. I guarantee Myles Garrett has said and done the same thing. So don't try to play that card here!

Northwest Woodsman: When all else fails, claims of racism will always result in your opposition knuckling under and apologizing. Actually it is always best to skip over all other potential remedies and go straight to the racism claim. Saves time and gets instant positive results. When you are handicapped by a low IQ, this is the easiest route because you do not have to concoct a BS story to support your case.

nfl used to be a sport that all of the family could sit and watch on winter Sunday afternoons. Then it became a political football with players more intent on trying to make a statement than actually playing and trying to win for the fans that support them. Professional football is in a sharp downward spiral. Bye Bye
