Jake and the Council Made a Great Deal for Salisbury

In 2016, the City Council approved a plan by Salisbury Development Group to develop two waterfront parcels at the marina with a mix of commercial and residential units.

The developer was the lone bidder for the project on the city-owned lots, paying $1 to purchase one of the parcels and $1 per year to the lease the second over a 50-year term.


The marina will be the first project in the Salisbury area for David Perlmutter, a principal with the Salisbury Development Group, but he has development experience in Prince Georges County and in Seaford, where he is building the Residences at River Place along the Nanticoke River.

Aaah perfect! Roof top dining on a filthy river surrounded on all sides by ghettos. I can picture it already, partaking in poorly assembled sysco food products whilst watching the needles float lazily by on the tide, along with all my cares....about my car getting broken into while im eating. Can we get honest with ourselves about why downtown is dead?

Please keep in mind that the chicken industry provides a LOT of jobs on the shore. Mostly, they are a good employers.

I will simply thatthat by saying that II provides worker comp medical transportation to this industry.

Let others provide how they assist those in need of assistance.

$1 for one waterfront lot and $1 a year for the second, not a bad deal. I wonder if jake the snake will secure a 750K a year contract with an Iranian energy company as part of this deal.

More vinyl covered vertical housing with a 30 year lifespan. It's all looking the same. No architectural character except cheapo.

Why is everyone so obsessed with Salisbury. Joe himself moved on. You can't fix what it is now. Everyone wanted Wal-Mart and Chick-Fil-A and Bed Bath and Beyond, China Buffet and Aldi. Well your dreams of sprawl came true. Just look at this place this is what you wanted and now you have it. Isn't it quaint and wholesome ? It's hard to believe so many people from elsewhere got duped into retiring here when we try to raise our kids to GET OUT. Joe should change the focus of this site and Let Salisbury GO and get on with brighter horizons.

Only 1 person noticed how much he sold a parcel of land for and the yearly cost of the lease. We brought in $51.00. Wow! What a deal for waterfront property.

Why do people want to come here to retire? I want to go elsewhere to retire. I do not see the allure.

The Seaford development is in a flood area. Has an elevation of 2 feet.

Someone get me an illustration of how you will exit this property that will be located in the middle of a roundabout? Also, how many yards of soil will they have to truck in to make that property useable? Right now it's a mud hole
