SACRAMENTO, Calif. —President Donald Trump sued California on Tuesday challenging a state law that requires candidates for president to disclose income tax returns before they can appear on the state's primary ballot.
The federal lawsuit from Trump and his campaign is the latest move by the president to resist efforts to turn over his tax returns.
The law adds an "unconstitutional qualification" to the fixed set of qualifications for the presidency set forward in the Constitution and violates the First Amendment, Trump's lawyer William Consovoy argued in the lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.

You do realize all of these are publicly available right? It's almost like Trump has something to hide in his tax returns. Wonder why he's fighting their release so hard? Every president and candidate for president in the last 50 years never had a problem releasing them...
I don't remember Obama releasing his tax returns or any other documents from his life! Guess the Obama library is going to either be pretty empty or have a very large reserved room!!
How about we see Obama's college transcripts, John Kerry's war injury reports, etc.
Those documents were promised and never produced.
Who cares about his taxes?

11:54 completely missed the point. Tax records are not publicly available for politicians or private citizens.
At various points some politicians have chosen to release some of their tax returns. Voluntary action on their part in each instance.
The Constitution lays out in a few words the requirements for President, Senator or Representative. That's it. Nothing about net worth or taxes paid.
The Constitution also forbids Bills of Attainder, which is what this actually is.
The law will be declared unconstitutional.
