Caution, Marylanders! You may have heard about a toxic blue-green algae has been responsible for killing dogs in a handful of southern states. Now, it’s been found in Maryland. Read on for the details and be on the lookout this summer, especially if you’re a dog owner.
Over the past several weeks, news has spread about dogs dying after swimming in water infected with toxic blue-green algae.
So far, dogs have reportedly perished in Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas. There could be more unreported cases out there.

The algae is probable form Fukashima radiation spewing in the ocean still... It has been doing it for years, so its about that time it reaches this side of the ocean...

Refer only to trusted sources such as UC Davis and Tufts Cummings schools of vet medicine. dogfoodAdvisor is not a trusted souce and any info that site gives is not to be believed. He is a dentist and not a PhD in companion animal nutrition. It is caused by the BEG diets. Boutique/Exotic ingredients/Grain free. Dogs are dying and being diagnosed with this every day. For the time being the ONLY safe brands are Purina, Royal Canin, Hills, Iams/Eukanuba.
