10 States With the Worst Medical Care

You want the best possible medical care but if you live in Alaska, Mississippi, or North Carolina, you probably aren't going to get top-notch care. These three states were ranked as providing the worst medical care by a new study that recently set out to determine the best and worst healthcare systems in the U.S., Ladders reported.

The final calculations, reported by WalletHub, were based on several factors that included the number of hospital beds and physicians per state as well as the prevalence of chronic illness and disease.

After taking all this into account, Alaska was ranked as the state with the worst medical care in the U.S. This is due to its low percentage of children insured as well as the fact that there were very few at-risk adults receiving routine doctor visits over the past two years.

There were similar findings for North Carolina, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Arkansas, which rounded off the five states with the worst medical care in the U.S.
