Governor Hogan Proclaims Freedom of the Press Day

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today proclaimed June 28 “Freedom of the Press Day” in honor of Capital Gazette journalists Gerald Fischman, Rob Hiaasen, John McNamara, Rebecca Smith, and Wendi Winters, who lost their lives on June 28 last year. The joint resolution was signed by Governor Hogan and Maryland General Assembly leaders this past legislative session.

“One year ago, in a horrific attack, we lost five Marylanders who were doing their job as journalists,” said Governor Hogan. “Today, as we honor those we lost and all who have lost their lives in the pursuit of informing our citizens, we recognize the vital role that the freedom of the press has in our democracy and our duty to honor and protect this constitutional right.”

Hey hogan, why don't you let those victims protect themselves with their own firearms....all those people were lambs to slaughter with no way to legally defend themselves. So sign all you want Hogan, but the blood is on your hands as well as every other legislator that proposes mote restrictions on guns. Bet you that youre nice and protected by guns but to hell with everyone else. It's bull $#!+. Shall not be infringed upon... GET IT YET? every one of those journalists family members should sue the state for basically tying their hands behind their backs and leading them into a fight. So glad its hogans last term we need true republican leadership.
