Jose Rodriguez has been a repo man for three years.
"It gets crazy sometimes," he said.
But he said he experienced nothing as crazy as what happened May 30, when he was driving near the 120th Precinct stationhouse and came across a Nissan Maxima wanted by the bank because of three missed payments.
He said he logged the Maxima into his tracking system, lifted it onto his tow truck and was about to walk into the stationhouse to notify police when a green pickup pulled in front of him.
"I was stopped by one officer over there, saying, 'Hey, that's a police officer's car,' with a police sergeant that was off-duty that I didn't know — with him completely blocking me in. He told me, what I'm doing? 'You got to drop the car,'" Rodriguez recalled, standing near the scene of the incident.

I have no love for tow truck drivers but I hope he sues them for all they can afford. Then I hope the popo get such severe reprimands that they will think 3 times before doing something this stupid again. The one thing I hate more than tow truck drivers are people who abuse their authority.
Hmmm. Somebody's wrong on this one. Chances are it's the police, given that the tow truck driver had a court order.
Above the law, reminds me of democratic politicians
NYC cops do tend to cover one another's behinds, no matter what.
He try to steal the wrong car. Lol.
NYPD, above the law. That's what they think they are. Not much different than all the other police departments in this country.
Thin blue line huh??
I read the court transcripts and this guy forged the documents, illegal police scanner, illegal tow truck and didn’t have license. Crazyness.
Never happens they get a slap on the wrist
4:06pm No you didn't. Keep trying dummy.
If he did things right I hope he becomes a very rich man with the money he will be awarded by the court.

NYPD BEST COPS IN THE WORLD UNLIKE SPD PT PIZZA MAKERS.
Where did you get the transcripts 4:06
He can't tow a cops personal car for non-payment. What the hell was that tow truck operator thinking? Cops are cops. They don't have to follow the rules. They have each other to count on, and nobody else. And then they wonder why the public doesn't like them or treat them like everybody else. This is just one more reason not to like cops. They bring it on themselves.
