Here's why Harriet Tubman won't appear on the $20 bill next year

WASHINGTON (ABC7) — In 2016, then-Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew decided to make Harriet Tubman the new face of the $20 bill.

Today, however, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced a reversal to that decision.

Mnuchin, appearing before the House Financial Servies Committee on Wednesday, said the update of the $20 bill would most likely be postponed to 2026.

Our soldiers war heroes that died in battle get less attention for defending their nation. Do we know what Tubman's whole life was like, what kind of person she was her whole life and any children she raised do we know what became of them. Just saying we have more heroes than Tubman, let's get out the history books and look at the others that have been forgotten.

MAGA! Trump 2020. Any change, then make it Ronald Reagan on the twenty dollar bill. Not because of his race, or his outlaw background (like Tubman), but because of his outstanding service and devotion to our country as President of the United States. Dead Presidents' pictures belong on US money, not black outlaw women just because of some kind of political correctness run amuck.

Agreed!

“Do we know what Harriet Tubman’s whole life was like” Yes- there are literally volumes written on the subject.

"our" heroes?

Who are you writing about?
Heroes?
Are you sure?

Were the wars necessary to defend the United States?
Maybe you should do some reading

Tubman on a $20.00 was Obama's idea. Now you know.

Wow, so you are one of them that spit on our sons when they return from war. You are one of the ones that protest at a war dead's funeral. You lack respect and common decency for your fellow Americans that fight and die for your rights. Yes 10:47 is correct. There are many more American heroes that deserve recognition besides Harriet Tubman. You are despicable in your disdain for our war dead. You don't deserve to be called an American.

Seconded

@10:17, Your son signing up for war has nothing to do with fighting or dying for anyone's rights. Like transgenders who are mentally deranged and suffering from delusion in regards to being of their chosen sex, you have the right to believe it but you have no right to demand others believe it with you.
Further, you aren't in any position of authority to tell anyone who is or isn't an American. You didn't create the country, you do not own it, you do not rule it.
There is nothing heroic about going to another's country with a gun and shooting it's people. They did not attack you nor they did not invade our lands.

5:52 Obliviously you know nothing about wars and how the enemy conquers one town after another until they control all, if not opposed and stopped.

3:41 You don't have a clue as to what it takes to keep the citizens of our country and "yours" free. Don't like it ?? Bye Bye

Because to be on money you have to be deceased.

thank you for stating the obvious truth
Americans are brain washed Zionists who murder others for Israel's interests (not Americans)
People who have lost loved ones dying in these immoral wars have nothing left but "patriotism"
Patriotism is the trick Israel played on Americans.

We should not be worshipping such things as flags and ideas.
Worship GOD and his SON, Jesus Christ

There were way more whites who helped blacks escape slavery than any blacks. Is she the only example they can come up with? Where are the statues and paintings and such honoring the WHITES who eradicated slavery? It's always a one sided argument with them.

I hope you seek professional help for your delusions. You are quite the bold-faced (but anonymous) antisemite. Were you a Nazi in your previous life? You certainly believe like one now.
