The Washington, DC, government prides itself on its transparency, but digging up the facts about it’s red light camera and other ticketing policies is difficult, with officials referring reporters to outdated information and some data only coming through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
It is also necessary to slice and dice the facts because the revenue the District receives is not the same as the money violators owe but have not paid.
For example, Breitbart News asked the D.C. Office of Tax Revenue about the money generated through tickets, and the office responded that in Fiscal Year 2017, “photo ticket revenue” was slightly over $100 million and about $98 million in Fiscal Year 2018.

If you drive in DC, you will have a ticket mailed to you. You can go to DC and try to fight it, or just pay the $70.00 fine that has no effect on your insurance or driving record in Maryland. It's impossible to get in a line that is stopped for a block around a corner in an intersection that never clears, without getting caught in the middle of the intersection with nowhere to go. And BAM! the camera takes the picture of your car "going through" the red light. Happened to me. Apparently happens to a lot of folks. As if that city didn't suck enough.
So the Democrats in control of these places don't want voter ID because they said it will put a hardship on people to get an ID. They might not be able to afford it. They have NO problem at all giving out fines for things though.
I was in Manassas 30 years ago and got a ticket. I never paid it. I was in the right lane and was turning into a shopping center and the bogus fine was I passed a car in the left lane to do it.
Traffic was moving, what was I supposed to do.
Idiotic.
I drew a picture, told em to go screw themselves and mailed the ticket back to them.

If you drive a Bus there , you can't make the lights !!!! Will get Ticket !!
