Joe, a former beloved Priest from St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Salisbury has passed away. Father Paul Campbell had been a Priest in Easton and other local parishes on the Eastern Shore and currently at St. Christopher in Chestertown.

Because the left says so. Heck of it is, don't people who are on SNAP etc. need IDs?

Good question, simple answer.

Because requiring someone to get an ID blocks their access to voting, a right "endowed to us by our creator". That creator, didn't add "must have I.D." as a stipulation to vote.

Getting an I.D. costs money, so unless the I.D. was tax payer funded... it would be a block to access to a Constitutionally protected right.

Also, where would they get the I.D.? Unless transportation was provided to get it, payed for on the tax payers dime... it again would be a block to voting.

Voter I.D. is a way to prevent the poor and under privileged from voting. I have not seen enough compelling information that voter fraud is such a rampant problem that it requires all this extra government intervention.

If you want an I.D. program... fine. Are you willing to fund via tax money the issuance of these I.D.s at the time of voter registration, and also pay for the management of the replacements of said I.D. if it needs be?

What if someone forgets their I.D. when the go... can they use another form of identification?

I'm not completely opposed to the idea... as long as it in no way at all would inhibit or prevent citizens from voting in any way.

If it did so, in any way, stop anyone from voting.. then it is not the right answer, is it?

Well, golly gee whiz 8:37, the same logic can be applied to the second amendment, can't it? Are you saying ID should not be needed to purchase firearms?

Nothing was said about firearms in the post, as it was specifically a reply on a discussion about voter I.D.

Do you have something to add to that, or contribute, or do you simply want to distract from that?

There can be a good discussion about the 2nd amendment, and I'm all for that... but this thread is about voter I.D... isn't it? May be we have THAT discussion, in a thread about the 2nd Amendment.

You are changing the subject. The conversation is about voter ID.

Everyone's finger prints are different, everyone's eye is different, why not require one of these as a way to vote instead of not requiring anything at all and letting illegals and dead people vote.

Well 8:37...you are part of the problem! If an ID keeps someone from voting, yes it would be the right answer. We can't have people voting that are not suppose to. That's the point. Of course you already know this. You are just trying to deflect and cause conjecture about the whole situation. If the ID is required for all of the items stated, why not have it for voting? The person stating the question about purchasing a firearm with an ID was a valid question. People like you have condemned this society with your half empty brain...smh!

In the state I live, we have to show ID. I don’t see why it is such a problem for some. Must be Dumbocrats! You can go to the DMV and get an ID. Show your birth certificate. Sure that’s the problem than illegals couldn’t vote. MAGA!

So if someone is too poor to afford a state issued ID, then how do they receive a prescription at a pharmacy. Or, how do they receive any medical care from a hospital of physician where a valid ID is required?

Anonymous said...

8:37 It's also a means to stop illegals from voting in a country they know nothing about

Anonymous said...

Yes 8:37, what if someone forgets their ID when they go to purchase a firearm ?

8:37 snowflake

8,:37 is ignorant to reality. if they find a way to get on Wic hud or welfare then will knock you over to get an id.if they are not on welfare then they are fully capable of getting one..
