The SFD just posted this on Facebook

Salisbury Fire Department
16 mins ·
At 1925, the Salisbury Fire Department was dispatched to a reported apartment fire at the Glen Gardens apartment complex on Glen Avenue. AC1 (Parker) arrived to find a working apartment fire on the second floor of a building with heavy fire showing. Suppression units arrived and began an aggressive interior attack and search. The units quickly extinguished the fire. Two patients were transported to PRMC to be evaluated for smoke inhalation.

Units from Parsonsburg, Hebron, Fruitland, and Delmar either provides direct assistance at the scene or cover ups for the city.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.

Oh Golly Gee - now here is an idiot - who is not on scene - but knows more about what the 4 chief officers on the scene in their city-issued, taxpayer-funded Ford SUV's standing around watching others work. Perhaps next time these 4 should walk to a fire.

This is a serious fire and you as a arm chair fire experts know exactly what those on scene are doing wrong. Your time would be better spent thanking your Lord and Savior it was not your home or your Ass being carted off for critical medical attention or the morgue.

Chief 1, John Tull, arrives on scene.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! You know he reads this blog after the criticism he received for not responding to the fatal house fire just a few blocks from his house. He was at a "Non Breathing Subject" ambulance call in his neighborhood just prior to this call doing "CPR."

John Tull has never ever responded to any call after hours since he was promoted Deputy Chief and then Fire Chief. Makes us all feel good knowing that John Tull reads SBYNews and feels the heat. Just what we need to get results from these lame a$$ Jake Day city employee appointments.

Letter 2 the Editor

During the apartment fire at North Park Apartments, Command requested 2 additional ambulances for 2 burn patients several minutes after he called for a second alarm That brought fire engines from Fruitland, Hebron and Delmar.

Several minutes later, Wicomico Central finally dispatched ambulances from Parsonsburg Volunteer Fire Company (St. 6) and Delmar Volunteer Fire Company (St. 74). These 2 Priority 2 burn patients suffering from severe smoke inhalation had to stand around and wait for Wicomico Central to dispatch the two different volunteer fire departments for 2 separate ambulances to respond all the way from Delmar, Delaware and Parsonsburg. That's right, stand around and WAIT because the paid Paramedics were playing wannabe firemen instead of doing their damn jobs!

The paid assistant chief and the paid medic crew at Station 2 new darn well that Paramedic 2 was the only ambulance crew available in the city and they jumped on Engine 2 and responded to the fire. Their job is on the ambulance and NOT the fire engine. They were needed on the fire ground as EMS providers, not wannabe firemen! There were 2 burn patients suffering from smoke inhalation as a result of the fire at North Park Apartments and again the employees of the City of Salisbury Fire Department FAILED them!! The ambulance crew of Paramedic 2 had a duty to respond and they refused to respond. Instead, they wasted time and several minutes after Command was established they called Command on the radio and said "We have a crew for Engine 2, do you want us to respond?" Command advised "Yes." Again, Paramedic 2 was the ONLY ambulance crew available in the city and IF they responded to the call they would have been the first unit at the scene, but instead, they were still at the fire station wanting to play firemen instead of what they get paid for, EMS providers.

All involved should be suspended without pay for this neglect.

Those involved include:

Assistant Chief 1
Medic 2 Crew
Fire Chief John Tull
If anyone knows who Assistant Chief 1 and Command was and who the crew of Paramedic 2 will you please name their names for the record.

Yes, John Tull should be suspended without pay because he is issued a take home radio and a pager and he was listening to the call. He heard the dispatch for the fire because he responded to the scene with lights and siren. He heard the dispatch for the fire because he was just at the scene in his neighborhood for an ambulance call on Heather Glen Drive doing CPR on an 86 year old dead woman. John Tull, paid fire chief, heard the dispatch for the fire and he should have TOLD Assistant Chief 1 and the crew of Paramedic 2 to respond in the ambulance as REQUIRED by the City of Salisbury SOP's. If they don't know the SOP's approved by the Fire Chief, HR, and the Mayor and Council.

Let's see if Jake Day will do his job and suspend the Fire Chief??

How many people in the Salisbury Fire District have to suffer due to the negligence of the freelancing paid firemen?

6:28am, this is horrible and Jake Day, you absolutely do need to do your job and do something about this blatant negligence.

Can we get an update on the patients? What help do the residents need? We all want to help.

Why do firefighters always cry about every freaking call they go on. It's ridiculous. Oh that's right they flunked the psychological to become cops. On a serious note really why do FFs talked crap about one another every chance they get. Show some unity cry babies.

We desperately need another fire palace up north, maybe just fill it with EMT’s.

Anonymous said...

you are correct, the crew of paramedic 2 did break down and respond with an engine that was also staffed with 2 volunteer members. But in no way did the two patients have to wait to receive emergency care. They were in fact transported by paramedic 2 which was staffed by 2 off duty career firefighters that happened to be at the station when the fire was dispatched. They immediately responded to the scene with a fully staffed ALS unit and provided care on scene and transported both patients to PRMC

What makes you think I wasn't on the scene you illiterate moron! Yes I thank the lord it wasn't my house and I pray that this fire department doesn't let me burn up in a house fire like they did last week with the fatal house fire on Old Ocean City Road. Now learn proper grammar before you write and not need to bring the Lord and Saviour in this to fight your battles.

Jimmie Gladwell responded from his home while off duty. Bwahahaha. What a suck up. There was already an assistant chief on scene if I’m reading this correctly. That loser is delusional. Thinks he is God’s gift to the fire service and that he is smarter than everyone else. He wouldn’t make a pimple on a real firefighters azz. Guess he thought there was either a photo op or they would be getting free food. Bet he puts in for overtime pay or comp time when he wasn’t even needed. Next he will put himself in for a medal. Here’s the problem Bootsy, you need a chest to pin the medal on. SMDH

Yes the ambulance crew and the assistant chief wannabe did violate city SOP's by allowing the only paid medic crew on duty to break down and take a fire engine to the scene with four people when minimum standards is 3 for staffing.

Since these 2 "off duty career firefighters" "just happened to be at the station when the fire was dispatched" then WTF didn't they jump on the fire truck with the two volunteers that live at the station? WTF did you have to call command and have to ask permission if you can abandon your medic unit and ride Engine 2? You are full of Sh!t because no off duty firefighters were at the station. Paramedic 2 failed to respond to the scene on the initial dispatch per SOP's because they wanted to ride the big red ding ding because they have LDS. The "off duty firefighters" did not respond until way after Parsonsburg and Delmar were dispatched for their ambulances. You can try to play "cover your a$$" all you want but again YOU failed the taxpayers who pay your salaries, AGAIN!!

Joe can you tell these are paid firemen trying to CYA? Shame on them. They all need to be suspended without pay for putting the citizens in danger. Not only did they put the citizens in danger they put their brother firemen in danger by not providing back up emergency care if one of them suffered a catastrophic event due to the fire. Shame on them!! So much for the "Brotherhood" in the fire service. They proved again tonight that it's all about them.

Sadly Jake Day thinks that he, John Tull, Darrin Scott, Jimmie Gladwell, Bryan Records, Frampton, Jay Jester, etc. are real leaders.

Time for a wake up call, Folks!
