The grandfather of the little girl from Guatemala who died after crossing the border in New Mexico and being detained with her father and 161 other migrants says the family owes money to human smugglers.
The relatives of a young Guatemalan girl not only have to deal with the pain of burying their loved one, they must still pay the ruthless human smuggling organization that took them from their home country to the U.S. The family in Guatemala remains hopeful that the father of seven-year-old Jakelin Amei Rosmery Caal Maquin will be allowed to stay in the U.S. where he could find work and pay off a sizable debt that the family owes to a human smuggling organization in their home country, Telemundo reported.
In an interview with the news network, the girl’s grandfather, Domingo Caal, said that the family owed money to the “coyotes,” or human smugglers, who are capable of taking all of the family’s possessions.

I don'y understand your dilemma, since the girl died of malnutrition and water starvation which is not prevalent in Honduras.

it sucks to be a criminal, doesn`t it? their daughter died,they weren`t able to illegally enter the U.S. and now they still own other criminals a lot of money for trying to help them violate U.S. create a go fund me page or stop involving yourself in criminal activities. i have no sympathy for criminals. death is an occupational hazard for all criminals.
Where was the press when at least seven deaths of migrants died due to subpar care under Obama's watch, when he was detaining immigrants in cage-like cells? The obviously biased press would rather protect their favorite politicians from bad publicity and come up with blatant lies to make those they oppose look bad, rather than do their jobs and report the truth.
Now some liberal or group will start a Go Fund Me page to help these 'poor people' out of their self imposed poverty which would still be there but not greatly known had not the child died. People will simply forget she died due to the fathers neglect which was and is child abuse! There are literally thousands in the same boat who owe thses smugglers.
