Experts warn the stress of divorce ‘can bring on depression, PTSD and suicidal thoughts’

Marriage break-ups are frequently followed by a collapse in mental health for divorced wives and husbands, lawyers said yesterday.

They warned that symptoms ranging from high stress to severe depressionfrequently strike couples engaged in divorce.

In some cases the impact of divorce can contribute to deep problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder or the onset of suicidal thoughts, lawyers at the Hall Brown Family Law firm said.

Well, duh...when you see half of your assets evaporate in front of you just because you found out you married the wrong person.
I wonder when the depression starts? Just after 'I do' or much later, like around the time you're figuring out child custody??
