Black Conservatives to McConnell: ‘You Have the Power’ to Pass Criminal Justice Reform

Black conservatives spent Wednesday on Capitol Hill lobbying lawmakers to support the First Step Act, legislation that, according to its supporters, would change federal law to focus less on punishment and more on rehabilitation for prisoners who were given harsh sentences based on mandates likes the “three strikes” law.

In a video, they sent a message to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)

Brandon Tatum, director of Urban Engagement at Turning Point USA, thanked McConnell for his efforts to seat Justice Brett Kavanaugh on the U.S. Supreme Court and asked him to do the same to ensure the First Step Act gets a vote on the Senate floor.

MCCONNELL has had the power to do many things. But he NEVER does. At least we got rid of 42 so called Republicans due to retirement or can't get reelected. MCCONNELL and several others need to go so PRESIDENT TRUMP can really start clicking.

Blacks all the time crying that they have to pay the price for committing crimes. Always wanting to get off easy and it's the white mans fault they are in prison. There are consequences for committing crimes in America. Commit the crime and pay the consequences. End of story. Stop your damn bellyaching.
