Did Fox News Cost the GOP Orange County?

Nearly 90 minutes before polls closed in California, Fox News chose to make the irresponsible announcement that Republicans had already lost the U.S. House of Representatives. Did that early call cost the Republicans Orange County, California?

Orange County has been a Republican stronghold (and a famous one) for decades, and while there is no question the county had been trending Democrat, on Election Night, Republicans lost all seven congressional seats. But if you look at the vote counts, there were a number of squeakers.

In the 28th District, Democrat Linda Sanchez beat Republican Ryan Downing by less than 300 votes.

Out of over 140,000 votes cast in the 39th District, the Democrat won by only a little over 4,000 votes with 51.4 percent. This race was so close, it was not called until November 17.

In the 45th District, the margin was 51.6 to 48.4 percent with a margin of under 9000 votes out of some 280,000.

With margins such as these, it is not unreasonable to ask if Fox News suppressed the Republican vote with its indefensible Election Night call.

The assumption is made that late voters wouldn't bother to show based on an MSM announcement made while the polls were still open. It's hard to believe that this is how it unfolded, that Republican voters wouldn't bother to show based on a news report made before voting was over and that Democrats had won.

Are there foxes in the henhouse?

No need to blame Fox News. Republicans lost Orange County with their indefensible stances on immigration, healthcare, the environment, tariffs and tax breaks to the wealthy.

In California, applying for a driver's license will automatically add that persons name to the voter registration list. So, when Jose and Juanita cross the Rio into California and get their drivers license they can then vote in the all elections. California, now swamped with illegals voted and cost Republicans the election.

All the dumbarses from up North are moving South to get away from the high taxes created by the people they elected! Now they are going to do the same thing in the Southern states.

That is somewhat true if you really think about it. However, why are the taxes lower in Florida than Maryland? Why is phone service cheaper; water is cheaper; electricity is so low it can't be real. Why? Governor Rick Scott. Now Florida has 2 Republican Senators and a Republican Governor. Expect things to get better in Florida. The politics in Northern Maryland are totally different than the Eastern Shore. Monies from taxpayers are given to counties near and around the beltway in MD and Easton and Annapolis. Southern MD and Eastern Shore are taxed the same but don't get the same benefits or services. Don't think a good Republican Governor would make any difference.
