Harbeson - The Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate a Trooper involved shooting that occurred earlier this morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:07 a.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2018, when a search warrant was executed by the Delaware State Police at a residence in the 22000 block of Harbeson Road. Troopers entered the residence and made contact with a 50-year-old male paraplegic resident who was lying in bed. A struggle over the weapon ensued which led to two Troopers discharging their divisionally issued handgun.
The suspect sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Identification is pending next of kin notification. One of the Troopers involved in the shooting has been employed with the Delaware State Police for 8 years and the other for 7 years. One Trooper sustained minor injuries as a result of this incident. Both Troopers have been placed on administrative leave as per Divisional Policy.
Detectives did recover a loaded handgun, drugs and other weapons from the scene.

Suicide by cop.
I guess there's an opening at the nearby chicken plant.
“the suspect proceeded to obtain a handgun that was in arms reach. A struggle over the weapon ensued which led to two Troopers discharging their divisionally issued handgun” Tells you all you need to know, the Cop has the RIGHT to protect his own life.
Agree.
A paralyzed man with a gun
WOOOOOOO....BIG THREAT
just gun happy cops
cops got guns..citizens will die
He was reaching for a loaded gun a$$hat, that’s what he gets
@1023 citizens got gunz too.
idiot🙄
@ 10:23 You think that the loaded gun the paralyzed man has won't work just because he is a paraplegic? That means that his lower extremities don't function...his finger that will pull the trigger still does! And, you idiot, cops don't wake up and say "gee, who can I shoot today?" They want to go HOME at the end of their shift...and they have every right to protect themselves...and even though you obviously don't deserve it, they would put their lives on the line to save YOUR sorry A$$ if you ever need them. Try thanking a brave man or woman in blue instead of spouting your ignorant hatred.
@10:23
Your ignorance is showing!!
They, both of them, opened fire on a paraplegic, at home, in his own bed. The "suspect" never fires his gun, but the cops shoot him dead. Chicken shit cops fearing for their lives again, I see. So they gang up on a paraplegic and kill him in his bed. The drugs were probably for his pain relief. I wonder if they found any evidence in support of the warrant, that was specific to the warrant, or just stuff you might find in anyone's HOME?
@ 4:43 "the suspect proceeded to obtain a handgun that was in arms reach"...key word is OBTAIN...that means he HAD it in his hand--the cops are supposed to wait until they are shot? And the warrant had already been issued--a search warrant that would need to be signed off by a judge, magistrate etc. because there is enough to believe crimes had been or were being committed from that residence, or by the person (s) residing there...they just didn't randomly select a house to see what they could find and bust in the door...think for a minute--try really hard...if somebody pulled a gun on you and there was a struggle over it, would you wait until you were shot to defend yourself and your partner? By then, your butt would be dead...go back to drinking your Kool-Aid and keep your hatred to yourself.
@ 10:23, You are an absolute idiot. His hands were not paralyzed. He could still shoot a gun, you fool. Were you born this stupid?
4:43, You're as stupid as 10:23. Gang up on him? He grabbed a gun, you moron. Being paraplegic has nothing to do with his ability to shoot. His hands still work. Get a brain, cop hater. Blue lives matter.
