My Samsung phone and tablet can do the same as any apple product and even takes great pictures! i can easily replace the battery and add memory through a sim card. Can't do this with apple. Thats all integrated into the circuitry and to open it up is to destroy it! I used to own apple products, but now I stay with Samsung. Much happier!
That is exactly what happens to those cables so that you can invest in more of their garbage. Too bad I go and buy the off brands which are less expensive and last longer.
After all these years of making cords with plugs at the ends, they still fray and break. There's an invention waiting to happen.

Absolutely. My wife has 2 Apple cords that have the same tearing.
And this weekend, our guests had charge cords with the identical tears. They couldn't tell who's was who's.
