A Viewer Writes: WBOC in Cambridge

We took our grandsons to Cambridge this morning to tour the S.S. John W. Brown Liberty Ship. I couldn’t resist taking these pictures-no handicap tags and plenty of empty parking spaces in the lot where the ship was berthed. Does WBOC have a special handicap parking exemption?

Obviously, their handicap is mental not physical.

WBOC would NEVER admit to following this blog, but in this case I feel a statement from them would be in order.
At least a few words on how the employee has been spoken to about priorities when it comes to the parking locations of the company car.
Parking in a handicap zone is serious. It actually affects someone's life. The law recognizes this - I think you get hit with a $500 fine if you get a citation for that!

Does a “mental” handicap qualify??? Just kiddin’.

Everybody does it. No big deal because ANYBODY can get a permit and police NEVER enforce it anyway

You do realized mentally handicapped applicants can gets those tags... also you do know that being a Democrat is a mental illness right ?

The car and it's station logo and number are their handicapped permit

Just because "everybody does it" does not make it ok! It is against the law, but then again you are probably ok with "everybody" crossing our borders illegally also, because "everybody does it" it is ok in your mind! That is stupid thinking, plain and simple minded thinking!

Your asking them to do a story ? Lol

I lived in an apartment complex where parking got tight. Some of those coming in late would decide they could park in handicapped space instead of walking across the parking lot. Having handicapped family and friends, I always called the local non emergency police phone number to report this when I saw it. They will send a cop and ticket if they have resources to do so.

Call the news top number on the car and tell them there is a WBOC car parked in a crip zone.

There's usually a tow company on speed dial waiting to make a quick 500 bucks for idiots like this

The fine varies with the area, in Baltimore it is $500 I think it is $250 in Wicomico Co.

Nothing like free publicity....sad though, since no one watches!

No dummy, not anyone can get a disabled tag or placard. The application has to be signed off by a doctor. Now if some doctor signs off on it without someone being disabled, which I doubt, the doctor can also get into trouble. But it does sound like you qualify for a disabled tag.

10:24. Have you tried anger management therapy??

Why 12:00, does the truth hurt?

Apologies.. Probably not EVERYBODY can have their own permit. Only if they limp from ingrown toenail or are more than 30 pounds overweight. (Tongue in cheek) But most users are “borrowing” someone else’s. Have you ever heard of a doctor “in trouble” for this? There is no penalty for issuing a permit to a patient requesting it due to “ back pains”. Do a little research.

12:00- who is 10:24. You sound like the biggest turd here.

Got one..86 & cripple. I speak from experience. You are much too idealistic. A dose of reality would help.

A painful planters wart on the heel will get you a permit..

I think you need to do research. Each one is assigned to a particular person and registered to their vehicle. They have expiration dates and have to be renewed. If a cop wanted to all he would have to do is check the numbers on a placard against the registration and the driver's license of the one driving. Stop speaking about things you don't know.

“If a cop wanted to”. ............. you gotta love it..

There actually are people who believe speed limit signs keep people from speeding, that the “clean up the bay” real estate tax is used for that purpose, and that gambling profits are all given to the schools....

7:25 PM Wrong - it is registered to the person.

I use my neighbors when I take her to the store because she is with me, in my car - not her car. Never had an issue and as long as the person who it is registered to in with me doesn't matter what car I drive.

No, I am not wrong. I have two and they are registered to my vehicles. If the disabled person is in the car it doesn't matter which vehicle it is since the disabled person IS IN THE CAR! Come on man.

You let them see your car there , see what WBOC does . Headlines
