Three OC businesses reprimanded

Three businesses were disciplined by the Board of Licensing Commissioners last week, with one earning a letter of reprimand and the other two receiving monetary fines.

The Board of License Commissioners is the local branch of the state agency that controls which businesses can sell alcohol to patrons among as well as regulating other concerns such as live entertainment at licensed establishments.

During the meeting, the three-person board found that Village Market, Rio Grande Café and Oceans Market sold alcohol to minors and handed out punishments based on the infractions.

Village Market, at 1816 Philadelphia Ave., earned the largest fine amount at $500. The Rio Grande Café, 14502 Coastal Highway, was fined $250 for a similar offense, and Oceans Market, 14107 Coastal Highway, received a letter of reprimand for its violation

Wait Just a minute. The ""homeless" who occupy the South Division St bus stop essentially run this operation. A passenger (or even employee) ia cut off from access. pathetic.
