Why is the Som. Sheriffs' Dept. in Crisfield on Friday and Saturday nights walking and checking doors while the Crisfield Police Dept. is on the highway writing speeding tickets? Crisfield's' Police Dept. eats up 72% of the towns budget. Shouldn't THEY be checking the doors instead of Deputies? The County budget being spent in Crisfield is evidence of mismanagement on Howards part. To bolster the case if the the deputies involved are tied up a half mile from their cars and a real emergency occurred think of the time wasted trying to mobilize for a response. If you notice their skin tight uniforms you know all of them are in top shape! This is an engineered ruse for Howard to politic along with a big showing at the Clam Bake. Is there anything immune from politics? There are places in Somerset Co. who never see a cop and these Deputies are wasting patrol time profiling. Why don't they spend it on the drug problems in Wenona or North East County?
Not many votes up there! Retired Law enforcement Officer.

To 2:20 PM: I don't know who you are, but you are spot on with your comments. Only in Somerset County could someone as inept as Ronnie Howard be the Sheriff. He has got the majority of residents there fooled.

The Somerset County Sheriff's Office has lost four good, hard working deputies over the past 2-3 years because of Ronnie Howard's poor leadership and lack of management skills. Rick Taylor was clearly the better choice but Howard is from Somerset County and his father-in-law is one of the county commissioners. The only reason George Nelson is still there is because he threw a temper tantrum over the Chief Deputy position. It's no secret Nelson spends more time riding in an ambulance than he does at the Sheriff's Office, but Howard lets it happen.
