RadioShack, once a neighborhood mainstay for all things electronic, is planning to make a comeback of sorts.
The 97-year-old retailer announced plans Thursday to open more than 100 "express" locations nationwide.
After filing bankruptcy in 2017 for the second time in less than three years, RadioShack announced a partnership last week to stock its merchandise in 60 franchised HobbyTown stores. Now RadioShack is extending that number to over 100 of the toy chain's locally owned stores.
“We are excited about the HobbyTown partnership, as it will allow us to re-engage and directly serve our core hobby and DIY (do-it-yourself) communities,” says Steve Moroneso, CEO of General Wireless Operations in a statement.
