I will look into this but I have spent thousands at HD and may be a Lowe's man now. As much as I spend there if 10 people like me do the same it will cost them a lot more than one man's short term disability.
I guess you did not hear about Lowes' layoff of "old-timers" about 18 months ago. Assistant store managers with seniority were let go. Told to sign an agreement no to sue, or no severance. It was clearly age discrimination.
This makes me wonder if anyone has ever used long or short term disability from Home Depot or have the majority who have applied suddenly found themselves in the ranks of the unemployed. I spend thousands a year at Home Depot, I may just bite the bullet and drive to Millsboro Lowe's, they have better quality lumber anyhow!! Sure my cost will go up but I am tired of seeing multi-billion dollar companies worry about paying out pennies to those in need of sick leave.
