A Viewer Writes: Main Street Construction

I have been inconvenienced by the construction on our street for seven of the past twelve months. The city supposedly hired two crews to expedite the construction on our block and have provided us with a completion date of September 18th. This worker was sitting in his machine for at least 45 minutes with his feet up on the steering wheel and this is certainly not the only instance of the workers seemingly doing nothing while being paid. Meanwhile, finding a place to park is an absolute nightmare, the sidewalks are torn up and covered in gravel, and the constant noise is extremely distracting. The businesses on this block are clearly suffering due to this construction. As a lifelong resident of Salisbury and a taxpayer, I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with how the city has handled this renovation. I also must say that I am embarrassed that our street will still look like this for the Folk Festival that is happening in September.
