To All Somerset County Voters:

We would like to address the upcoming Republican Primary Election on June 26 th. It is a great opportunity for voters to decide the future of Somerset County.

For years we have watched Somerset County search for young leaders to step forward and help an aging community. We believe those cries for a young leader have come to life this election cycle. We are talking about Clerk of Court Candidate Jordan Monk. Since filing back in September, Jordan has been a candidate who has shown the virtues of a true conservative. He has done what we think needs to be done to earn the respect and support of Somerset County voters. He has gone door to door and is having a face to face interaction with voters. He has attended multiple events around the county and has shown his support for the local organizations. We have been involved in many campaigns over the years and have never seen a candidate with more drive and determination than Jordan.

However it does not stop there with Jordan. Although he is only twenty-eight years of age, Jordan has already established himself as a fixture in this area. For many years, he has volunteered his time
coaching and assisting with various youth activities. He also holds an office on two educational scholarship foundations. Jordan comes from a family who has left a permanent mark on this community. His Uncle, Eric Monk, made the ultimate sacrifice, his life, as a Maryland State Trooper in 1988 and his Grandfather, Fred Monk, served the community for many years as Captain of the J. Millard

Tawes. Jordan, who also is a Maryland State Trooper, served Somerset County for seven years. He led the barrack for numerous years, and was selected Trooper of the Year in 2014. Jordan displays great leadership and respect in his position with Maryland State Police and upholds their core values

“Integrity, Fairness, and Service” with honor.

When we asked Jordan months ago, “Why would you want to get involved in politics, which can often become very controversial?” He quickly responded, “I want to serve the Citizens of Somerset County. I look where we are as a Country, and believe that Christians need to regain their strength and stand up for their faith and the Christian values that this Country was founded on.” Jordan grew up in the First Baptist Church of Princess Anne and now attends SonRise Baptist Church in Princess Anne. He stands up for what is right and puts God first in his life, and has helped spread the word of Jesus in song, singing for Southern Gospel group, “The Baptist Boys”, for fourteen years.

In closing, there is no perfect candidate, but we think Jordan Monk is what this County needs - a young Christian Conservative Republican.

Thank you for your time in reading this letter.

Makes me wish I lived in Somerset County so I could vote for the young man. It sounds like he has his head on right. Good luck to you son, and God bless you for what you've done, and are asking to do.

A trooper does not lead a barrack. That is a lie. You have to be a Sgt or Lt. to "Lead" a barrack.

If Jordan is such a great leader then why does he want to QUIT the Maryland State Police after just 7 short years?

If you want a true leader then you will vote for incumbent Charles Horner who did lead in the Maryland State Police and also help take crime off our streets in Maryland working with the Department of Homeland Security.

Vote Charles Horner to continue to lead the Clerk of Courts in Somerset County. Charles Horner did not quit the Maryland State Police after 17 years he retired with honor and dignity after a long career.

Vote Charles Horner!

You obviously don't know him.

Monk is a great guy. You got my vote

I love the old gripers. What are you running for?... crickets

Doesn't matter who wins the Republican nomination in the primary. Lionel Frederick is going to win in November. However, that said, Jordan Monk has my vote.

I am for Monk but have not heard that he is going to resign his present position. He needs to clearly state that he will resign if elected.

Horner never led anyone except to lunch where he treated that's why he was always in Peakeys. Ask him to recite what he alledgelly has written about himself and he will have to call the real author of the stories. Troopers do lead while at the barracks that's where they begin to become supervisors teaching and mentoring other troopers. When did MSP get a 17 year retirement? You obviously don't know Horner!

Vote Monk!

I think Jordan Monk is the best man for the job. Ever since I've known him he's ate slept and breathed Somerset County. Even through all the slander of rumors he's still held his head high and gone door to door not just asking for votes but asking what he could do to make Somerset better. He wants to do more for this County than any other person I've came across. Jordan Monk will have my vote and complete trust in this election and the many more to come. #VoteMonk

Obviously you received a DUI and is upset for a man doing his job

Good dude.

Horner is married into one of the county's prominent families, but do not hold that against him because he is the man for the job.....He is approachable, and he cares about the citizens of our county. Vote Charles Horner

Charles Horner has my vote.

Some young punk with only 7 years as a State Trooper isn't leadership. It's the Clerk of Courts, not the Girl Scouts.

I know Jordan through other family members, and he was also several years older than my child in school. Jordan is a good guy. I saw him do the right things and be fair, even while nobody was looking. I think he's young and does say/post some silly things, but never mean. And I know some are concerned that he may try and eliminate their job at the court house. But from what I understand, he's only looking to eliminate the jobs that are not needed from a computer upgrade years ago that is long done with. Not the necessary jobs of hard working people. I do know he's honest, so I think he'd try to do right by all. Is Jordan the perfect candidate? I'm not sure. But I'm going to vote for him.

If Charles showed even one ounce of working hard to win this campaign things might be different. Monk has worked and gone door to door..that’s what we need. Not someone who is just going to assume they have it in the bag. Monk has my vote

This is not about the job of Clerk of the Court for Mr. Monk. It is a vendetta against the current clerk. Jordan holds Mr. Horner accountable for the death of his uncle Eric. You will see things get nastier as it gets closer to the primary election.

Do you know what it takes to get in to the state police and get though 6 months of being away from your family? You start your day at 4:30 am with intense exercise. Ever get sprayed with pepper spray in the face? Obviously you don't care for him. That's fine. But the only "young punk" running is on the Democratic ticket, a common thug who beats up women and has a rap sheet several pages long.

Better question to ask is....... why is Monk wanting to leave MSP after only 7 years? Charles Horner was dedicated to a law enforcement career for 27 years.

Monk was elected by voters in 2014 to serve on Central Committee, but only showed up for a fraction of the meetings. Why should voters entrust him when he has not performed his elected duties from the last election?

I hope Lionel does win!!

Anonymous said...

Jordan is a quitter. When things get tough at the court he will quit that to.

Anonymous said...

Monk if voted in will terminate all jobs and replace with his buddies just like he did to the Little League

Lionel Frederick's got the dirt on Horner! From what I've Been Told pictures say a thousand words. If the incumbent wins Frederick will smoke him in November! #bluewave

Lionel you got this buddy!! Just stay out of trouble!! You have such good views for the county.

Monk you can go to hell! You just carry such a sense of entitlement it’s disgusting

Still haven't seen that Monk will resign if elected. Unless I see that I can't vote for him. It's simple, just say "if elected I will resign immediately". When I see that I will vote for him. I really don't like Horner or Frederick and hope Monk will come clean and state that he will definitely resign if elected.

Monk has stated on his facebook page multiple times he will resign from MSP if elected. He also has stated it on his videos he has online.

What about cleaning house on your first day?

I like your interview on Delmarva Now where your answers are so short it shows you don’t know what the position entails. Also your management experience is a Snow Cone business that’s open in the summer. How much management skills could you of acquired flavoring ice?

Come on Monk answer the tough questions

Anonymous said...

Sorry Horner can’t ride around on tax dollars like you do campaigning.

Your just a sad little guy that has it out for Jordan lol. Can someone please give Hillary a bottle

Is lionel Frederick a convicted felon?
