OCEAN CITY – Recommendations for several physical changes at the Caroline Street comfort station will go before the Mayor and Council in a work session this week.
On Monday, the Ocean City Police Commission recommended a handful of physical changes that will target loitering around the Caroline Street comfort station, an area known to attract a small homeless population in recent years.
City Engineer Terry McGean told the commission homeless individuals congregating at or near the comfort station utilize the facility’s benches, bathrooms and shelter on a daily basis.
“The three Cs of what causes it (loitering) are convenience, comfort and concealment,” he said.

So...a committee recommend ticketing the homeless for Loitering. Anyone know HOW the homeless will pay the fine? HAHA, I betcha the homeless would LOVE being in jail since there would be roof over their heads, a softer place to sleep AND meals!!!!
Like most I don't have a solution either. "Put'em" to work some might say...others "bus'em to Delaware like Fish Powell used to do".
Although I like the 1st one since its practical only in a sense - the latter one, being folk lore of course does make me ponder what Fish would do today!!
ANOTHER "committee"? Will this be like the transportation committee (I won't refresh you memory on that disaster). I saw 3 OC police cars at the south bus terminal today (not real busy) and the officers having a conversation with one of the regulars (the own without any front teeth). She was laughing and making faces at these 3 officers. I can't help but wonder what OC expected but it was raining and the rest of the "homeless" converged at the bus terminal because it was out of the rain.
Send them to Seattle....
