NR- Man Charged with Threat to Blow-Up Local Business

PENNSYLVANIA MAN CHARGED WITH THREATENING TO BLOW UP HAGERSTOWN OFFICE BUILDING

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD (March 6, 2018) -
A Deputy State Fire Marshal has arrested a Pennsylvania man after he threatened to blow up the office building located at Craig Paving, Inc., 118 Hump Road, Hagerstown, MD. Craig Paving is owned by Roger Craig.

On March 5, 2018, at approximately 12:00 pm, the Deputy State Fire Marshal was contacted at the Western Regional Office in Hagrestown by Mr. Craig to report the threat. The Deputy made contact with Mr. Craig and several witnesses.

As a result of the witness interviews, it was determined that the threat made by Blake William Durboraw, (6/9/1970) of 9819 Willowdale Road, Greencastle, PA, was credible and that he was in possession of blasting caps and capable of carrying out the threat, as he stated he had "nothing to lose." Mr. Durboraw was angry because his mother, Judy Durboraw of 136 Hump Road, Hagerstown, was selling her property to Craig Paving. As a result of the consent search conducted by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad and their Explosives K9 - Blitz at 136 Hump Road, 28 Blasting Caps were located in the garage. Due to the age of the Blasting Caps and the unknown stability, an emergency disposal was performed, without incident, by the Bomb Squad.

The Deputy State Fire Marshal charged Mr. Durboraw with Threat to Explode a Structure and Possessing Explosives Without a License. Mr. Durboraw was transported to Washington County Central Booking without incident. He is currently being held at Washington County Detention Center without bond pending his Bond Review on March 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
