A schoolteacher allegedly grabbed a child by the neck and slammed her against a closet before locking the entire class in her classroom.
Melissa Blank was arrested and faced multiple charges but the school district moved her to another school instead of firing her.
The 37-year-old was teaching her math class at Brusly Elementary School outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana, about 9.45am on February 7 at the time.

She needs a gun!
The teachers I/we had to put up with back in the 70's should have been locked up and forbidden to teach.
Poor little POS. You should see the elementary school kids salisbury.
Most liberals would agree some teachers should be armed. I was surprised on how many teachers live in fear. It won't get approved people would rather spend the next 20 years try to collect 800 million guns. Probably cost 5 billion. Like my democrat friend said guns will keep coming in through the wall after all collected. Take down the wall!!
And there is part of our problem today. Simple remarks about the 70's. We didn't have as many incidences in the 70's because of the way it was. Thank goodness this teacher stood her ground.
We didn't have these problems in the 70's because we knew we'd get slammed in class and by the Dean of Discipline and then by our parents when we got home!
Good for her! I wish the lesson had been able to reach the rest of the class.
Unfortunately, now the only lesson the class learned is that they rule over the teacher now.

BS. You just didn't hear about them as much as today. You think we are talking about discipline, but we are not. Educate yourselves first, then offer an INFORMED opinion.

The teacher was arrested two weeks later and charged with 15 counts of false imprisonment, and one count of cruelty to juveniles and simple battery. The child continued to disobey her so she pinched her shoulder so hard she left bruises. A schoolteacher allegedly grabbed a child by the neck and slammed her against a closet before locking the entire class in her classroom. The 37-year-old was teaching her math class at Brusly Elementary School outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana, about 9.45am on February 7 at the time. Ms Bank then allegedly stormed over to the student, swung them around to face her, and pushed her against a closet door by her face and neck. Ms Blank then used three chairs to block the classroom door from being opened, locking the whole class of 15 students inside, though for how long wasn't stated.
If I am the only one who sees a problem here, this society has regressed further than I imagined. We are talking about an elementary child, not an unruly teenager. And abuse, not discipline.
Reading these comments, it seems not only were these commenters abused themselves, they accepted, condoned and contined the abusive cycle themselves by abusing others.
I have to wonder how these commenters would feel if this happened to their own young child. Or if they would say the same callous things. I highly doubt it. But such is the society we live in now. So much hatred, lack of empathy, compassion and lack of love in general.
I shouldn't be surprised. The woes of society do start in the home. And we see the future of some by these comments.
11:12 Just curious. When is the last time you stepped into a classroom?
