The report, by the lead engineer with the company in charge of the bridge’s design, was made in a voice mail message for a Florida Department of Transportation employee. That employee was out of the office, however, and did not receive it until Friday, a day after the collapse.

More after the fact brilliance.
Florida the leading state with minority contractors winning bids , ain't it great , only in America.
Out of the office. That is fine, but where is the coverage. Take a day and someone else does your chores. F'n crazy, same as the recent school massacre. When has it become acceptable to not bare responsibility?
If the engineers were really concerned they would have reached someone. I don't knmow of any office that you cannot get to someone. They could have gone the office physically.
The crack on this bridge was noticed and called into the FBI, and they ignored it.
The Sheriff department was called to have a look at it 27 times, and did nothing.
This type of negligence is inexcusable, and I am so glad it only happened this one time here in florida.
Oh, wait....
