A Viewer Writes: Comcast delayed payment processing

Has anyone else notice how long it takes for Comcast to credit payments to their accounts?

I send out bill payments (business and personal) around the first of the month. Almost all the vendors credit the payments within 3 days of me mailing them. Comcast, however, can't do it within 7 !!

Do you think they are trying to generate late fees or are they that inefficient?

BTW...i don't use e-bill for Comcast because i like to review the bills in detail before paying. I've noticed they have the habit of increasing bills without you noticing.

Anyone else notice this (who doesn't use e-payment)???

I don't use epayment for Comcast. We finally had to go to Dish for t.v. and kept Comcast for inet and phone. YES, every other month the bill would be raised and NO I would NOT sign a contract!!!

Comcast NO Customer Service is their downfall...it's the pitts.

you can review bills before paying electronically depends on where the processing center is and volume of mail.

You say you don't like e-bills since you want to review the bill detail before paying, but all you have to do is to sign on to Comcast, pull up your bill, and download a PDF which is shown in detail. Keep all your bills on your computer without the waste of using paper. I also pay my bills online via my bank, and the payment is electronically sent to Comcast the next day and posted that same day.

Last month, I deposited my payment in the mail drops at Choptank Electric Cooperative and at Comcast. Both on a Sunday. On Monday, Choptank acknowledged the payment. 10 days later, Comcast notified me that I was in danger of having a late payment, in-spite of them having my money the whole time. Finally, on the day that the bill was due, they acknowledged payment. This month, I made it to the "store" during business hours and used the kiosk. It will be interesting to see how long it takes them to acknowledge payment. I do have a receipt from the machine and they take an electronic payment immediately out of my account. Why don't I mail in the payment? Several times the payment arrived late or not at all. They blame the PO and the PO blames Comcast. Either way, I lost, so I deliver payment in person wherever possible.

Comcast is slow walking the mailed in bill payment to coerce people into electronic bill payment.
I would NEVER give a company direct access to my bank account.

I can't believe you still write checks and mail them in the 21st century. I still get a Comcast bill in the mail every month that I can review and know the due date. Then I simply log into my Comcast account a day or two before the due date, and pay with a credit card. Then I still have 20-30 days to pay off the card debt (that I get a rebate on). It is posted as paid by Comcast when you do it online, no waiting for the mail to get to them and for them to record your payment. You need to quit doing things "old school." They closed that school 18 years ago.

My Comcast bill increased in Dec. 2017, Jan. 2018 & Feb. 2018. Anyone out there get three pay raises in three months????

Three increases in three months. This only happens because they are a monopoly. The politicians allow this because Xfinity/Comcast are heavy donators to their campaign.

Comcast is a joke. Even with extended basic I'm paying a $100 a month and nothing but commercials selling junk and soccer games on the weekends. Thinking about going to Dish with the 2 year comtract.Alot more channels. Plus in Fruitland I have to pay a franchise fee.

While I hate the prices of Comcast, when I pay the bill online it is credited within 48 hrs, usually sooner.

I signed a contract for 2 years with comcast, and in 6 months they raised my price by $20 a month. Now, a year and a half after I quit dealing with them, they hit me with collections for the $100 in overcharges and late payments they wanted. They haven't sent me a bill in a year and a half, and then want to send me to collections????

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! There is DISH, Directv and Verizon DSL to deal with, Hughes is too expensive, but if you need high speed i guess they are good for that, but I know nothing of their billing practices.
