Police are holding a news conference Sunday to announce they are teaming up with federal authorities, including agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, to deal with the problem.
The new city-wide effort could have at its disposal a federal chopper to track vehicles that are reported carjacked, Fox 32 Chicago reported.
Carjackings have risen sharply in Chicago, from about 700 in 2016 to about 950 in 2017, the station reported.

What are they upset about, that's not even 3 a day?
So strange that no one has ever attempted to carjack my 1984 Chevette. It's equipped with push & jump in start & a 4cyl engine that's a real neck snatcher. My neighborhood must be better than I thought because I can leave the keys in the ignition & car doors unlocked & no one even gives it a second look.Go figure.
Want less crime vote Republican. It's just that simple.
Carjackings in Detroit dropped off dramatically after "Shall Issue" passed for all good citizen of Michigan. Thugs won't attack someone how can fight back with a gun!
Screw that!!let that commie pig rom emanual figure it out he created this cesspool
You can combat the carjackings by letting the people carry firearms. Let them defend themselves. The police or the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives only show up AFTER the crime has been committed. Not prevent the crime from being committed. Get a brain. The victims are helpless against these scum and the criminals know it. All they can do is just stand there and be gunned down. Let them defend themselves. Or they will do it without your permission. Like they say, " I would rather be judged by twelve, than be carried by six." Myself, I would find them, NOT guilty, for defending themselves.
