The Salisbury Zoo Staff Couldn't Even Power Wash The Mold For Their New Bear

As many of you know, my Wife worked at the Salisbury Zoo for 18 years. Back then, (if you can imagine) being a woman doing a mans job was extremely difficult. However, the DETAIL she has always had when it comes to animal care and cleanliness would amaze you.

That being said, I don't know who this new Director is at the Zoo but he's clearly a bum. I've heard from people going in and out of the Zoo that this guy is found sleeping at his desk on a regular basis and obviously the Zookeepers couldn't care less what the public thinks and or how to care for animals. The green mold on the walls is evidence enough for me.

The Salisbury Zoo is a complete dump and should be closed. Those poor animals! How long has this bear been in quarantine?

Joe there are 2 bears now. Both are new. The first 2 pictures are of the newest bear and 3rd picture is of the female. I hope and pray they are not planning on breeding these bears!!

If you can’t run it, it shouldn’t exist. Thanks for looking at the bigger picture.

As soon as Jake rents a Ringmaster costume he'll make a video extolling the zoo's preeminence among the cleanest zoos in Maryland!

Let it go Joe. We are fortunate to have a zoo here. It’s just a nasty Ass bear enclosure

Why was The algae not washed off the walls and surrounding areas? You want me to waisted my time watching tv about a bear who is
Going to be in that filthy pen!

What about the WALLABY"S and the OWLS?!?!

That's not mold it's either algae or moss; most likely moss. But I don't understand how taking 5 minutes to power wash it is a difficult. Will that's what you get in Salisbury, low quality service at a high price.

It appears that you "waisted" everyone's time in English class too. Yep, I want to move my business here and hire you folks as employees.

Yes some of that looks like algae but that bottom left looks like black mold. Did they attempt to clean the wall? If you look the middle is clean. So they either half ass cleaned it or the bear has been rubbing on the wall and rub the algae off. Neither is acceptable!

Unbearable!

That is hilarious.
Really funny.

Joe, you don't like the way the walls look, clean them yourself. Mr. Citizen put your money where your mouth is.

Tommy Johnson, owner of Easter Shore Forest Products, is on the board of directors for the zoo. In fact he even has a "personal" zoo in the barn at his house. His zoo is spotless and clean, his animals are well cared for. If his own zoo is like that how does he let the city zoo get in this condition? If he is on the board, do something about it or get the hell off the board.

My husband and I took a walk through the zoo on the day the Christmas parade was taking place, it was a beautiful December Sunday! However, we were extremely disappointed in the condition of the zoo! My thoughts that day were what a dump and what an embarrassment. I would never take anyone visiting this area any where near that place! Referring to it as a dump is actually a understatement!! I can't believe they still take school children there on field trips.
