MELFA, Va. (WAVY) — Multiple fire units responded to a fire at the Eastern Shore Yacht & Country Club on Friday night.
Dispatchers said units responded to the fire at 10:30 p.m. Friday evening. First arriving units from Melfa VFC found heavy smoke and fire conditions and requested additional help.
Reports say the club was in the process of closing down for the evening when the fire ignited, spreading through the building.

The building suffered extremely heavy damage with a large portion of the roof collapsing and over 200,000 gallons of water were used to combat the blaze.

It's like these old clubs needed a nice, insurance paid for renovation...same stuff happens at the local crab houses, too. Funny how that works.
I heard the S.S. Hoppes from the Salisbury Fire Department self dispatched and they are having difficulty finding it.
Looks like it was a dump to begin with.
