Smaller cable companies say they want to save you money, but they can’t. Why not? Comcast won’t let them.
At least that’s what the American Cable Association — an industry group representing all the little pay-TV companies that haven’t been bought by Comcast…yet — said in an Oct. 10 filing [PDF] with the Federal Communication Commission.
The ACA claims that Comcast forces smaller providers to carry a slew of NBCUniversal channels, effectively preventing these companies from offering their customers so-called “skinny” bundles that cost less and include fewer channels you don’t watch anyway.
The comments, submitted as part of the FCC’s annual review of competition in the pay-TV industry, highlight how Comcast’s wide array of assets can negatively affect competition among cable providers.

The people should demand cable a la carte ,let us pick the channels we want to pay for.
Anybody who takes a knee IN ANOTHER is a TRAITOR.
It's like being force-fed at a buffet. Menu pricing is the way to go for the customers' sakes. People would be happy to pay a few cents more (cents, not dollars) for every show they wanted to put on their plates instead of the wasteful and money sucking all-you-don't-want-to-eat plans.
It's amazing to me how little control the huge mass of Comcast customers (and their gov't representatives) have over the product lineup that Comcast offers, even though it seems that none of its customers like paying for a gazillion channels when they mostly want a few dozen at most.
Comcast is nothing less than an unregulated monopoly. The reason is quite simple and obvious for anyone with half a brain. GRAFT AND PAYOFFS TO OUR GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES !!!
It's sort of like trying to buy a car without all of those add-ons that you won't need but they make you pay for anyway.
Duopoly (Suckcast/BSNBC Universal) maybe?
Cable companies have been allowed to set their own rules by a congress that’s all too willing to accept their donations.
57 channels and nothing's on.
If they go Union the price will go up again.
