Anger over Irish decision to honor “mass murderer” Che Guevara with stamp

Cuban American journalist asks why “a man who went to Cuba to kill and failed in everything he did” is honored

A Cuban-American radio host and Irish politicians have called on An Post, Ireland’s postal service, to explain their decision to launch a €1 stamp featuring a portrait of Che Guevara by Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick.

Ninoska Perez Castellón, a prominent member of the Cuban exile community in Miami and radio host, told RTE’s "Morning Ireland" show, the stamp honoring Che Guevara would “celebrate a man who slaughtered so many people.”

What is this world coming to???

Of ALL the people to honor, they pick him? A failure at everything. A murderer.
Doesn't look like he took personal hygiene too seriously, either.
No wonder people used to spit on the Irish.

It might have to do with the fact that Ireland wants the British to get the hell out of their country and give northern Ireland back to them. I don't agree with the stamp, but the Irish sympathize with freedom fighters.

People in America were crying when Castro died go figure. Rapper Jay-z wore a shirt with Che on it and now pop culture loves the guy

11:11 Che a "freedom fighter"? You're an idiot. He was a murdering Communist revolutionary. If you disagreed he killed you like many Liberals in America today are suggesting. He had absolutely nothing to do with anyone's freedom.

We killed a lot of British in our Revolution but we don't call the founding fathers mass murderers. Revolution is bloody. I don't agree with Socialism but Che and Castro led a true "people's revolution" in Cuba. They were pushed toward the Soviet Union by American foreign policy. It was Communists under direction of our FBI that tricked, tortured and killed Che and sent his severed hands back to the States to prove it.

That is profoundly offensive, and not just because I'm from Irish background. He was just a murderer with connections.

Spit on Irish 10:41? Probably not a good idea. When you regain consciousness you might find yourself gathering your chiclets and wondering why you have the imprint of a claddaugh ring on your forehead. They don't call them Fighting Irish for nothing.
