Protest

They and others may not think they are protesting the flag, disrespecting it and the anthem and being unpatriotic but they are. You can protest and be unpatriotic at the same time. There is flag/anthem etiquette and when you deviate from that it is a show of disrespect.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Sorta sounds like he was protesting the flag.

Tell kaepernick to go stand in the streets of Chicago with his protest. I wonder how long he would last there. Black on black shootings!

They are bringing politics into a venue the fans come to in order to get away from politics for 3-4 hours of entertainment and sport.

That in itself ruins the whole thing for the fans, who will seek out a different sport that keeps politics out of the picture altogether.

I believe the quote that" I kneel for the lord and I stand for the flag" quoted by a black woman says it all

they need to realize they are just a bunch of trained clowns who entertain us.

Wasn't Craperneck wearing a Fidel Castro shirt when he gave that interview? He needs to spend some of his money and buy a book on Castro. Typical of the SJW crowd. They protest the Government while wearing Castro or Che' Guevera shirts. Talk about irony.

How should black people protest perceived racism in America? When they march they are told they are too violent and disruptive. When they kneel they're too disrespectful. This is a serious question. Thank you for you for your well-mannered and insightful responses.
