President Donald Trump lashed out again Wednesday morning at the online retailer Amazon, accusing it of harming “tax paying retailers” and stripping jobs away from towns and cities across the country.
“Amazon is doing great damage to tax paying retailers. Towns, cities and states throughout the U.S. are being hurt - many jobs being lost!” the president wrote online just after 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Trump has also attacked Amazon over its connection to The Washington Post, a newspaper that the president feels covers him unfairly. Both Amazon and the Post are owned by Jeff Bezos.

Mr. Trump has the pleasure of getting to "tell the truth" again in this instance about a company that most people love, but do not understand the business model. It is predatory.
Ditto for the Walmart company. It is predatory.
Both of these companies are very destructive for American economy. Their existence is not in the best interest of the public.
9:59. When will people realize that business models are changing. Companies like Amazon are leading the way.
Seems to me Amazon is the way to go. I pay tax when I order from them. Most all do unless your state does not charge sales tax.
I agree local businesses can not compete. That does not mean that local businesses are better for us. These local businesses will use robots within 20 years anyway not employees. Most within 5 years possibly. I can already go to Sam's Club and check out myself with my phone. Small step to allow shopping with no employees needed. Robots can stock the shelves.
They do hurt tax paying retailers. I've order things seen around town because it used to be they didn't charge sales tax. Now they do, but there are others that have come about to take Amazon's place. Tired of paying sales tax to a state where legislators don't listen to the people at all, unless it's a small minority group. With a gov like Hogan, it inspires even more mail order because tired of paying his salary. The less taxes you pay, the less MD gov has to waste.
Amazon and other online retailers do hurt the local economy. We need to be aware that what we buy online, takes away from local business. If those businesses close, then those are jobs lost. We also need to look at how much more waste we create when ordering online. The cardboard industry must love amazon.
Yes they do hurt brick and mortar businesses but I have found that the customer service at most businesses is non-existent so it's very difficult not to use Amazon as for Walmart they will always suck
