The tragedy in Charlottesville, Virginia, could have been an occasion to stop and consider how the tolerance for politically correct violence and politically correct hatred is leading the nation toward civil war.
Instead the media and the political left have turned this incident into the biggest fake news story of the summer, transforming its real lessons into a morality play that justifies war against the political right, and against white people generally.
The organizers of the "Unite the Right" demonstration in Charlottesville were repellent racists.
But they came to defend a historic monument honoring a complex man and cause, and not to attack it or, presumably, anyone else.
They applied for a permit and were denied. They re-applied successfully in a petition supported by the local ACLU.
If they had come to precipitate violence, why would they have gone to the tedious trouble of applying for a permit?
Who knows what — if anything — would have happened if that had been the end of the story and no one had showed up to oppose them.

It is my understanding the original permit was granted but revoked by the vice-mayor. Unite the right then sued in federal court and had it reinstated.
I just hope this does not become the next Lexington and Concord.
Why did Boston just grant a permit for the same type of demonstration?

The head of this group voted for Obama and Hillary. Huge fan of both. This was set up from the get go. He is a rabble rowser. Hired, no doubt, for this very purpose.
He claims Trump wowed him over. I so doubt it. I believe he was a back up plan.
The Cops in Virginia lied. They lied they did not have a stand down order when it is very obvious they did. They did a curfew but only enforced it against right wing groups the BLM and Antifa were allowed to march with no problem as long as they wanted to. Only the white groups were forced out. The curfew only seemed to apply to them.
Unequal justice is no justice at all and no justice at all was in that city.
Antifa and BLM had no permits yet were treated as the aggrieved ones. Treated like they had permits and the white group did not.
FAKE NEWS was everywhere. FNC was perhaps the worse purveyor of it. It has become toxic except Hannity. Even Tucker seems forced to convey FAKE NEWS at times.
Cruz really proved how rabid he is. How far left of center he is in the GOP. Conservative in no way whatsoever.
